The worst think he did in that magazine article was saying that Jon said that his bass playing sucks and that he does no longer play on Bon Jovi albums.

Well..what was so wrong about this I don't see...

doesnt do the bands image any favours when they know they're using session muso's to do a members part.

as far as his playign goes... ive not heard enough of it to make a proper judgement but what kathleen said makes it sound like while he might have been able to play the parts ie not hitting bum notes all the time, he wasnt as tight as you need to be in the rythmn section of a pro band.

if he's just a bit off from tico's groove then everything really goes to shit.

I'm kind of a bass player. I don't play in a band, and I haven't played for a while, but at one point I was quite into it. The bass lines in most BJ songs are quite easy, and I can play just about every one. However, I'm not all that good so I struggle keeping up with the pace of KTF for example. I can play the riff perfect but my fingers aren't strong enough to keep going more than about 2 minutes.

No doubt everyone on here has seen Access All Areas recorded in 1992. I think Alec put in a great performance. He played KTF and Fever perfecty and they are two heavily bass driven songs. Although easy enough riffs I still think it was a fine performance, and if he played like that most of the time then surely you can't sack him. Like some of you have said maybe it was Alec screwing BJ around wanting more freedom, etc and the band must just have decided that he became unreliable over time. It's a shame because Alec looked part of Bon Jovi were Hugh doesn't really, but it is the quality of the music that matters.

You probably mean "An Evening With".

That's it! Heh, guess I've kinda lost touch with Bon Jovi in recent months. Gonna watch that video again now. Great show as I remember.

I mena he says he NO LONGER plays on BJ records. This would mean he didn't play on CROSSROAD eventually and that's only two songs. But you are probably right. Saying he no longer plays on BJ records - does it mean he was no longer asked to play on BJ records or he just didn't want to play on BJ records. The story is still a bit misterious.

However, does any of you know what Alec has been doing lately? Any recent pics of him?

I heard that Hugh had been playing on all the albums since Slippery. Is that true?

Well, booklets are somehow confirmed by the band, aren't they?
