That is your opinion of the way he sings the "standing tall" part. I think that it isnt that bad at all. I mean people know that his voice will not be like it was in the Keep the faith or These Days era. However the band is giving us a new album only a year after Bounce was released and people are already moaning about snippets they heard on a radio station!

It pisses me off when people moan about his voice when clearly they couldnt do any better themselves.............
Ehmm, the standing tall part is very flat and sung very bad.
Untrue. He sounds great. Absolutely great. The way he sings fits the new arrangement perfectly.

THE NEW VERSION HOWEVER SIMPLY ROCKS.....it's just those words that i think are like a punch in the head.....the rest s ok!!!!!!!
I was just surprise for the voice so "un-tune" he could does better...

But think of the alternative. They could remaster the song so that Jon hits all the right notes, but what happens if you hear the song live. You would feel cheated. I would at least. Maybe that's just me.

I'm kind of used to Jon's nasally dripping voice by now so it doesn't sound that bad to me.

If you want to apppreciate Jon's voice, I suggest you head over to the file-sharing forum and download a cover version of Always

I still love Jon's voice, even though it was considerably better back around the Keep the Faith era. Even if it does get a little more gravelly, and he has to sing a little lower, it's still Jon's voice and even people that don't like it have to admit that it is unique and it can't be replaced.

And I want to hear this live version of Always where he hits all the notes!! If anyone has it, can you post about it in the file sharing forum?
