I think the Dave Stewart version is completely different studio recording. The album version was produced by Stephen Lironi and wasn't one of the Dave Stewart produced tracks. So my feeling was that he recorded the track with both Dave and Stephen and chose his favourite for the album, using the other as a B-Side. I wonder if he did that with any more tracks?

Personally, I always preferred the Dave Stewart version.

I always wondered if there were more than this that were done with both producers. Something for the next boxset?

This was one of the first Bon Jovi albums I bought when I first got into the band (2006-ish). I remember being really disappointed with how LOAP sounded, with obvious playback from the album being used in the chorus. I still gave it a ton of listens. It was only once I dug through the whole catalog that I realized it was kind of lazily made.

I assume "Inside Out" was not well-received here either? Gotta be honest, had no idea that even existed until I stumbled upon it on Spotify the other day. I think I like how the tracks are mixed on it more than OWN. But also, everything is just taken from two shows (including the stuff used for the 08 MSG DVD)... Cripes. Kind of amazing that this band was so good live for so long, and they could never be bothered to put out some sort of proper live compilation that did every era (pre-2012!) justice.
