They are not. They didn't really influence the music world, like the Beatles or the Stones did. The sad fact is that they are a rock band within many others, maybe they sell more albums but that's the only difference and this doesn't make them a legend.

I'm not trying to sound mean or upset anyone here but no they aren't based up on any definations of legend that i know, while I agree that they are a constantly evolving band (one of only a handful with it's orignal members) I don't think that this would elevate them to legnedary status. To me a legend (music wise) would be a person or band who continue to inspire people and make/made an/a lasting impression on the world even after they were gone (dead or broken up) ie: Mozart, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby and others
now I realize that 100,000,000 fans can't be wrong, but 20 years after they break up or are dead will they still be remembered? It pains me to say that I see them as a Trivia Fact

Okay, maybe not legends but dang "trivia fact" that's kind of harsh.

I don't think so. Songs like Livin on a Prayer, Wanted, Keep the Faith and It's My Life are timeless and will still be played in 20 years.

Well, they made number 11 on Kerrang magazines Most Influential Artists of the last 25 years list .... It's just one magazines opinion, but it shows that they have had an influence

Its all opinion..yet again.

Will/do *I* consider them 'legends'? Most certainley. They were the first real band i ever liked and mean a great deal to me, therefore they are to me.

Will/do the critics and Joe Public consider them 'legends'? some will, some wont - as has always been the case. But as someone said, in 20yrs some of their songs will have retained their legendary status and will still be played - a sure indication of some type of status.

JBJ - I believe

"Sambora's face is a mask of joyous disbelief, as if previously unaware of his ability to play the instrument at all. Reaching the last fistful of notes, he does a fair impression of a man who is actually ejaculating into his jet black flares."

They did influence music. When they hit it big, record companies signed wanna-be Bon Jovi acts in droves. Jani Lane (Warrant's lead singer) said that they were signed to be "a Bon Jovi" for their label. After their videos were hits, MTV was flooded with the same kind of "live" videos. Young acts from All American Rejects to Raskal Flatts list them as influences. Their accomplishments probably should give them "living legend" status. But "legend" is more often reserved for people who live in excess and die young.

Until they get inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame like Aerosmith, they aint.

But yeah, its all about who you ask... to their most hardcore of fans, of course they say they are! If you ask those who hates them, they will say, "maybe as gay legends, they are!"...

To me... hmmm... they're halfway there.
