Default RANK THE BEST POST-2000 SONGS - Ultimate Jovitalk Post-2000 Album

Okay, so I thought while we are excited and waiting for This House Is Not For Sale and the upcoming single release, why not start a fan ranking/voting thing?

I know there has been a storm of "Best Bon Jovi"-song threads over the years, but I thought it could be fun to break it down to only post-2000 material as there seems to be a lot of different opinions about these albums. Unlike the 80s and 90s material where we all pretty much agrees with each other regarding the quality of the material, there really are no Dry County, These Days, Keep the Faith-esque "written in stone"-songs in the 2000s. There are a lot of great songs from Crush onwards so it could be fun to see what songs will be crowned the best.

This is how it will go down
All will select 5 songs, yes only 5, from any album between Crush-Burning Bridges. You don't need to rank the songs from 1 to 5, just write down your top 5 songs from post-2000, preferably with a short justification.
When the voting is closed the 10 highest rated songs will be selected and presented as the "Ultimate Jovitalk Post-2000 Album". I will present it like it would be an album, maybe even with an 11th Japanes bonus track ? Not very complicated but it will undeniably be exciting to see which ten songs that win.

I'm not 100 % sure when the voting will be closed, let's say one week for a start, ie May 13. If there is still a lot of voting going on after a week I might let it go on for a few more days, and if there is a lack of interest I might close it earlier. It's all up to you!

If this turn out to be a success story we might go for the 80s and 90s also, but let's start here and hope that many of you will present your top 5 songs of the 2000s.
Let's go!!

It seems natural that I go first, so here we go

Two Story Town
One of the tracks that I think had some of the dark and moody tone from These Days. Not in terms of vocals but overall I think it has a great chorus and feels very "real and honest."

Undivided
One of my favorite Jovi songs. So aggresive, the classic trademark Jovi chorus and wrapping it up very nicely with the acoustic/string outro.

Have a Nice Day
Not much to say about this one. What a way to start an album, it really punches you in the face from the first second.

Love's the Only Rule
Definetely the highlight during the latest three albums. I love the lyrics, they are uplifting without the cheesy "believe in yourself"-crap. These were the kind of songwriting we had been waiting and hoping for prior to TC, and the live version is amazing.

Make a Memory
Beautiful in every way. So simple, so raw, and the lyrics are beautiful in a woesome way. After some weak ballads on Bounce and Have a Nice Day this restored my fate that Bon Jovi still can write great ballads.

Ugh! So hard to keep it at just 5! Are you sure you dont wanna open it to say 9 or 10?

I shall do my best...

Whole Lot of Leavin'
I love the lyrics to this. The production on it aint too shabby either. I love the guitar riff as well. I actually didn't like this track that much when LH came out. It wasn't until it was released as a single that I gave it any proper attention. Now it's my favourite post-2000 track. It's actually become my third favourite Jovi song ever, behind Prayer and In These Arms.

Have a Nice Day
Just an awesome track overall, up there with the the standards of old-school Jovi IMO. Probably the last worldwide hit as well from the band. Fun video clip and marketing too.

Superman Tonight
Was disappointed when the film clip came out and interpreted the song as literal heroes (ie firefighters and coppers), but still, I love this song. The chorus is punchy and I love the ending "woaahh-ohhh"s.

It's My Life
This song is great from start to end. I love that is was the "comeback" of the band and had the signature talkbox sound. A Jovi song through and through. The in-your-face starting to the song is great, which works so well live.

That's What the Water Made Me
It's a fun song! And I like the obscure title. The riff is one of the catchiest post-2000s track by the band. I feel like this is what current Jovi should sound like. It also works great live.

I feel like I've cheated by not including Into the Echo, Love's the Only Rule, Beautiful World, Undivided and We Don't Run, so they all get honourable mentions. If it was a top 10, they would be my 6-10 picks.

05.I AM
This song is very nostalgic for me. It has positive vibe but lyrics are rather dark for me. I would send this one to someone who is thinking about suicide. I think that song represent beautiful side of HAND album. Not lyrics like Welcome twyamake this album deep but songs like I Am, Dlsecret or IWTBLoved.

04.WLOALeaving
Lyrics - "I close my eyes... in mine" are one of the most beautiful I heard in my life, This song is simply but had full of passion. I love lyrics, i love story about makeing that song and I love how Jon sing this one.

03.ANY OTHER DAY
Another song with darker lyrics. Jon is perfect with that kind of songs. I love everything on that one.

02.DIRTY LITTLE SECRET
How that good song wasn' t relased as a single I will never understood. Raw, powerfull, fresh.

01.IT'S MY LIFE
best song ever

This is also my top5 BJOVI songs

And I also think that Undivided, STonight, BWorld, LTORule, Saturday NGSM or Thick AThieves needs to be in top 10

Just Older (sound classic Jovi rock song, as old days)

Undivided
(stronger, the last hard rock song of BJ)

Last Man Standing (riff is awesome, lyrics is pretty cool)

Brokenpromiseland
(different, great atmosphere, I like the arrangements of guitars, sound clear but majestic)

Nothing (love it, powerfull song, Jon performance is magnificent, this is passion)

This represent my ideal bon jovi, with energy, rock, passion.

"No problem -- I'll just paste in the songs from the Post-2000 Fan Highlights thread. But there are seven songs, and they're asking for five? Problem!"

One Wild Night
Last Man Standing

Just for the fun of it! Unpretentious, uncomplicated can't-stay-seated rockers with a side order with New Jersey attitude

Bullet
Hook Me Up

Intriguing walks on the dark side: Thought-provoking with standout hooks

Have A Nice Day
A coarse punkfest with no apologies

As for the next album, I'm maintaining a position of prudent ambivalence.
