Anyway, I don't consider myself as I die-hard fan anymore. Not even sure if I go to a show this year, I didn't even bought LH, only downloaded. I have 4 versions of TD.

Last week I saw some DVD's from 93 & 97 and I'm a die-hard fan of those, even of the 80's though I was too young to actually live that. Nowadays the band just don't do it anymore, but seeing a 93 show just gave me thrilles all over...the energy....and the lack nowadays

If Lost Highway was there first album...I probably would've picked up the album (I buy a lot of albums still). I would've listened to it all the way through once. I would listen to the first half a lot. I probably wouldn't go to a show BECAUSE I would've been afraid that they would play a lot of the second half of the album (I'm not a ballad girl - never have been!)

Now, being a fan for 20+ years, I've listened to it all the way through a few times (except for Stranger), I play the first 1/2 A LOT, and I go to as many shows as I can (knowing that I won't hear to many ballads).

The all request hour, the girl in the front row has just asked for Blood on Blood, ok, Merry Christmas young lady!" Amazing <3

Nope. Not a ****ing chance.

If this was Bon Jovi's first album I would think they were totally gay corporate cocksuckers. I would never buy the album in a million years. However as I have been a huge fan for so many years and their sound is so much a part of my life (more so in my formative years than today) I can still find things to like about it and I couldn't honestly say that I hated the album. It's far, far better than Crush and Bounce and possibly better than HAND, not that that's a great achievement obviously!

Aloha !

Obviously not. And most people who say yes are obviously lying, since not that many of you actually own that country influenced crap. If a song like It's My Life or Bad Medicine made you a fan, then this album wouldn't have made you a fan. It's all so obvious.

This of course means that I'm excluding Becky since she had her Keith Urban fetish long before Bon Jovi started delivering this shit.

That only works if you are under the assumption that no-one ever likes more than a single genre of music. In terms of country music, if you can class her as such, the only artist I really like is Sheryl Crow, and my Dad listens to the Eagles enough that I'm probably more familiar (and content enough to listen to) most of their stuff - but that said, I don't think Lost Highway has all that much of a country sound to it. Sure, some songs have the extra musicians in there, but fundamentally they are Bon Jovi songs, with lyrics written (mostly) by the same 2 guys, so there must be something in there that has made so many enjoy this album.

No it doesn't.

Bon Jovi's rock music drew most of the people here into the band, and that's exactly why Lost Highway would not have made people here a fan. Because it's not rock music and doesn't sound like the songs they liked in the first place, no matter how many times anyone will say "that it isn't such a big difference".

Yes, Lost Highway might have been an eye opener to some people here when it comes to that Nashville genre, yes they might like more music in the Nashville genre, but there's no way they'd become the big fan they are nowadays because of Lost Highway. If they would, they would've been a big fan of the genre anyway.

It's the same as saying "I became a fan of Bon Jovi because of This Left Feels Right. I listen to other artists who rape their songs into pieces too". Doesn't really make sense, now does it?

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I'm thinking no, because I mostly listen to a light rock/top 40-ish radio station and though they play Bon Jovi all the time, they do not play country music, and I think if Bon Jovi were a new band who released a country-fied album, it would never have made their playlist, so I wouldn't even know it or they existed.
