Default Redo the singles post 2000

This has been bugging me for a while. Because the now ex (thank god) record company did such a shit job post 2000 especially with the album Have A Nice Day I thought id come up with the songs I wouldve released as singles because they rarely got it right. I would like to see what people wouldve released as singles off each album post 2000 here is mine:

CRUSH:
Got it right wouldve been hard not to when the only decent song is IML and maybe TYFLM. Worst BJ album in my book but if I had to choose 5 singles

-IML
-TYFLM
-Older
-Two Story Town
-One Wild Night

BOUNCE:

-Bounce
-Undivided (Sales going towards 9/11 charities)
-Everyday
-Hook Me Up
-The Distance
-AALY

HAND: The big stuff up shouldve been one of BJs biggest albums and biggest post 2000.

-HAND
-I Am
-Story Of My Life
-IWBL or Complicated or Novocaine (internationally)/ WSYCGH (USA)
- See one of the 3 that wasnt 4th single

If I had my way Dirty Little Secret and Nothing wouldve been on the album proper and been singles too

LOST HIGHWAY: Dont really classify this as a BJ album but anyway.

-Lost Highway
-Any Other Day
-TWASA
-Memory (internationally)/ WGIGO (USA)
-The Last Night or One Step Closer

THE CIRCLE: Up there with HAND as my fave post 2000 album.

-BrokenPromiseLand
-Superman Tonight
-WWBTF
-Bullet
-Loves The Only Rule or Live Before You Die

Couldve been big like HAND too.

Greatest Hits:

-TILTIL
-No Apologies

WAN: 2nd worst BJ album so tough again but:

-WAN
-Im With You
-RATEOTW
-Army Of One
-TWTWMM

Burning Bridges: Shouldve been promoted.

-We Don't Run
-WWYDF
-Life Is Beautiful
-Teardrop To The Sea
-SNGMSM

Also countless B-Sides shouldve made albums and been singles I hope one day they are. Will be interesting to see what people think the singles should be from past albums and the upcoming This House Is Not For Sale

Half the tracks you've mentioned were released and flopped. Just sayin'.

In America or worldwide? I think if Everyday and HAND were released after a big hit instead of being first singles I think they couldve done well. Just kept HAND first single cos it was still a minor hit but being released after a big hit like I Am couldve been I think it couldve done better. I know here in Australia HAND got a lot of radio airplay and Everyday was also a minor hit here

Superman Tonight was a flop mainly because the previous single wasnt a big hit and didnt get the airplay it deserved. It shouldve been a big hit maybe a more uptempo intro on the single wouldve helped too

Yeah, a load of those songs I wouldn't have as singles.

When I get home from work tonight, I will have a go at this. The band/record company did miss some good songs out as singles, though.

5 singles per album is a bit optimistic, it's not the 90s anymore.

Fast/Mid-tempo/Ballad. A N other if needed. I dont think they did too much wrong, and after HAND the singles didn't matter anyway. Any Other Day, Love's The Only Rule and Thorn In My Side getting some exposure to the wider world would have been nice.

I'm surprised that "Work for the Working Man" didn't take off as a single. I had lost my job due to the financial crisis, and the song really resonated with me, and I'm surprised if didn't resonated with more people in similar situations - there were a few of us.

And it was a catchy song too - I love that base line.

I think if they had released those songs as singles and they got airplay they couldve had 5 from each album. Pink had about 6 singles from her album here in about 2005

I think after HAND they pretty much did what they could with regards to singles. As much as I love The Circle, no other songs other than Born to Follow or Superman Tonight sound like solid singles, and even those were pretty safe and by the numbers. With WAN too, I guess I'm with You could have garnered some interest but the hook takes to long to really grab anyone's attention, Pictures of you sounds like something the Killers would have done 4 years before, What's left of me could have gotten some airplay on country radio but all in all, I think they picked the right songs as singles from those albums.....
