If you look at tabs or chords for Bon Jovi though or even in videos most the stuff Jon plays is very simple. He's mainly a vocalist who just helps out now and then if they need a second guitar in a song such as Wanted or Something for the Pain. I've also noticed him play guitar on Misunderstood recently and that basically consists of one chord strummed 5 times with a different note at the end. I think he's the sort of player that if he wants to play something complex he's gotta really practise because he's not as acompised as someone like Richie.

I think he did. I learned Something for the Pain on guitar and their are two guitars plus a sitar, so either it doesn't sound too good or you gotta compensate and try to get the correct sound using one guitar. It's hard work and definately an easier song to play with two guitars. I've also seen it played live in a broadcast from Sydney (think it was Sydney) airport. Jon plays guitar along with Richie.

Haha! Something obscene would have to have happened or it wouldn't have been a dream. That IS funny . Maybe we should start a thread expecially for dreams that people have had.

i call this noel gallagher syndrome. oasis solos aren't exactly virtuouso and they use pretty basic chords and progressions so everyone thinks noel gallagher can;t play guitar for shit when in reality most guys you see out there can play well above the level that you witness.

Because all we see of Jon playing is little bits and pieces of him on his acoustic live we assume he can't cut it and that's why he doesn't play on records or live more. I'm pretty sure he could hold his own on any bon jovi song save for some solos.

End of the day, he's the front man, I'd rather have him doing his thing around the stage than stuck behind the microphone.

And technically speaking. With one guitar there's more sonic space allowed in that frequency range than with two so richie gets to take up alot more "area" so to speak.
