He really goes into depth talking about how those songs were written, a lot of collaboration.
Cheers Ill give this a listen

Bruce Springsteen? from Lonesome Day?

While he gives the band credit for the collaboration, Jon & Richie's stories about the songs ("the names have been changed to protect the innocent" about Prayer, that Bad Medicine was written in Japan and Desmond only pitched in the prechorus, or rather, didn't even work on it at all, as they just re-used that portion of an old demo they'd worked on with him) clash with quite a bit with his take.

Actually, none of them have really changed with that interview. Jon may have referred Prayer to different people, but in the end at least one name was changed up. What may have been Jonny and Gina to Desmond, may have been person X and Y to Jon.
And Jon had stated (back in 1988 already) that Desmond had added that line to the pre-chorus and Desmond had stated just the same in this interview.

Plus Desmond says Jon already had the title and the chorus of the song by the time he got there so writing the bulk of it in Japan isn't that far from the story.

Army. Of. One.
Lol...... Yup!!!

Songwriter / Producer won't bring back Jon's voice which is what drives and directs the songs...

They worked out the vocal harmonies in Japan:

Richie got the idea for Bad Medicine while the band was doing a commercial video shoot on the top of a Japanese building. He told the band about his idea and they worked out the basic vocal harmonies right there. Later on Desmond Child suggested to add the line “that’s what you get for falling in love”, from a song they had previously written together, to the pre-chorus.

Was there ever a mention about the end of their collaboration?

I haven't heard of Desmond lately and Wikipedia says he's not been doing a lot of work so it could be purely coincidental.

I'm really curious to see if Jon would call Desmond in the future, they haven't worked without Richie if I'm not mistaken.
