Are we talking about post split or in general? There's a lot of songs written by Jon and Desmond without Richie but I don't think the split is why. It may be a financial thing, I'm sure the guy is pricey and since changing their label support system there hasn't been a ton of working with high profile song writers.

Yeah, post split. I figured 6hey didn't work with Desmond in BB because of the label thing but since they are back to the same label I wonder what happened.

What songs have their written for BJ without Richie other than Hearts Breaking Even? I can't remember any other song, I'm not sure about b-sides or special tracks though

Since BB was essentially old tracks re-hashed plus stuff that was left over from the THINFS period, there essentially hasn't been any other. Remember that Jon had been writing the THINFS album during that turmoil with the record company. He had stated quite a few times that the album had basically been sitting on his computer since around mid/late 2015.

They're back to the same label but from what it looks like the label is just distributing the album. Can anyone confirm/deny this? I THINK they're closer to an independent artist then fully a label artist.

Oh I more meant writing with Jon, there's lots of songs on ASCAP credited to both of them without Richie. Whether or not they were intended for a solo project I don't know.

Ah, yes, that’s true.

I’m not holding my breath for a future collab with Desmond. It seems that their writing partnership ran its course after LH. Jon and Billy Falcon are clearly the songwriting duo responsible for BJ actual (and probably future) artistic direction.

Oh yes, Rage Of Angels was one of them right?

Re the label, are they all signed now or did they just keep the original contract "updating" the terms and adding Phil (since I'm guessing Hugh had to be already there in some capability)? I don't think it was openly discussed by the band.

To be frank, I don't think Hugh's status changed as far as official member status goes. He probably got a significant raise and will be in photos and videos going forward. It's not like he and Phil are suddenly decision makers now. That's just my thought.

Real Life comes to mind. Not an album track, but it WAS a single. Also more b-sides (Stay) and boxset tracks, but I can't remember them all right now.

There's a bunch of tracks from that era, the question is whether or not it was intended for the band (I Get A Rush, River Runs Dry too). I don't think it's a matter that Jon doesn't write with Desmond for band stuff if Richie's not involved.

They've probably written together songs I don't care about (Real Life ugh, hate it) so that's why I have no idea.

Their strongest work is the one they did as a trio so it'd be interesting to see if Jon and Desmond team up in the future. I don't think they will...
