Well that description of the new song doesn't really excite me very much .. Would much rather hear "it's an awesome song" or "it rocks" than "it's fun" ... Still, its cool that they played something new and I can't wait to hear it..

btw... for someone who has heard it...do you remember it having a guitar solo? which Jovi song does it most sound like? was it longer than 3 minutes? thanks

Hi guys! All Jon said was that it was done but no date was mentioned. Jon definitely said the song WAS on the album- but it was not the single. No- it was not at all like Misunderstood. It seemed as I said very Mellencamp/Springsteen heartland rock and the chorus even sounded like an old Byrds song. So it was not a hard rocker but it was a rocking song- certainly much more rock and roll than pop.

Also forgot to tell you all after the soundcheck the guys walked by where we were standing. Hugh came by to chat briefly. Had a shirt that said something like I have no job, no money but I am in a band-LOL! Obie apparerntly told someone there will be a tour this year though I did not hear that directly. The other guys did not stop- Jon looked "intense" and walked by but Richie stopped briefly and gave a big wave.

I am really excited about this album- between Have a Nice Day, Last Man Standing and Who Says you Can't Go Home it is a good start for sure.

THANKS for the clarification .. did Jon said if they will use the Keith version or the non Keith version (there are 2 versions of this song) ? I kinda (sorry for this) highly doubt they used an IMPORTANT song for a show that prior to the album release ... the risk of bootlegging is so high

Jon did not say which version- only the Keith fans know this is the song he sang on. I don't know- Jon did say the song was on the album so we all know it will get out since it was played. Maybe they want it out there- after all it is not the single and it is a great song so having it out there probably wouldn't hurt. Maybe they will put a song or two on itunes which seems to be the trend- Bruce did that with Devils and Dust before the album release.

I see you point Val but this is so not jovi way of doing .. either they play a song that will represent the album and then it's a single or they play a song just to make the fans prepared for the new album with a minor song they don't "care" for ...maybe the song will make the album but I don't think it's an IMPORTANT SONG unless they would not have play it .... Jon fear so much downloading that doesn't make sense they give out an album song months before the album is out ...

As for lyrics- I heard it twice- once during soundcheck and once at the show. It was not quite enough to make out what the verses were saying but Who says you can't go home keeps repeating in the song- the lyrics I did hear seemed to be a kind of nostalgia, talking about going back home kind of deal but I could be off base. The It's Alright kind of thing in the chorus was catchy and reminded me a bit of Bruce's Lonesome Day but just a bit- it definitely had people singing it by the end. I was more into the feel of the song and concerts are not always the best place to discern lyrics in new songs but I would have to say upbeat from the lyrics I could make out.
