I know everyone wants to grab onto and read into any tidbit about new music because it is so anxiously anticipated. Like Bruce said on Storytellers talking about songwriting is a bit like talking about sex. I may be doing an abysmal job of describing the song but what can I say, it was good Everyone I spoke with seemed to think so too and the crowd was getting into it. I would say if I had to pick a Jovi song it was like the closest would be Saturday Night. But trust me it was a good song- it was not pop like Crush songs and it was not a boring ballad so already it has a lot going for it. It was just a catchy good old rock and roll song. I hope the MP3 gets out soon so you can judge for yourselves- maybe you won't even hear in the song what I heard as music is so subjective so try not to read into one review too much.

Little did you know that saying a song was "fun" would be scrutinized so much! It is hard to describe something that you have only heard once or twice, but thanks for trying. Hopefully, we will all be able to judge for ourselves soon.

Actually I picked up on that from Jon who intro'd the song that way So I guess that was in my head. Anyway Jon sounded great last night- actually led with Prayer so no worries there and on Radio he did sing a bit lower but is sounded great. I thought they all sounded fantastic last night.

I think like mouse said tha we can't judge ... until we have the cd out ... I think the FUN terminology make a lot freak out ... but honest I am thinking they put out the song they care for the least so like Seb and Mouse said this is NOT gonna give the tone of the album . it was just a treat to tahnks the good fans who went to Vegas to see them

Okay, Val, I'm breathing. LOL Girl, I came THISCLOSE to calling you last night to see what the new song was but since I wasn't sure if I had your cell number or your home number I didn't want to accidentally call your family at 1:00 AM. I knew there was no danger of Bon Jovi going country. When you say it reminds you of Mellancamp I think of songs like Sad Song Night or Made in America from Richie's CD. But like someone said, you can't really judge a song by a description.

Not playing an "important" song prior to a CD's release.... they played This Ain't a Love Song, Something for the Pain, and It's Hard Letting You Go at Christmas shows in 1994. That includes the first two singles 7 months before the CD was released. Well, I really don't care if the song is "important" or not. I'm just glad it's on the CD and am keeping my fingers crossed that it's the version with Keith that they kept.

So I guess this means no one wins the "Guess the setlist" thread.

And to think I almost went to clean up after the cats instead of checking to see if DC was back up and running.

You know I have to admit that I have never heard a Keith song in my life, but I am also hoping that the duet makes it on the CD. I think that it will be a nice change and something different from the band. Not to mention the fact that it may tap into some new fans, which is always a good thing.

Becky I was looking for your number too- yes I hope it is the Keith version as I think his presence would potentially widen the audience which is always good. I really think this new album will be great and worth the wait!

Look what it did for Tim McGraw and Nelly. Nelly's on CMT and got a video award nomination. Tim's on BET. They're both on VH-1. It can't hurt either Bon Jovi or Keith. And it's cool if they do something different. Just by what you said about it not being too pop or sounding like a big fluffy ballad, it's got a lot going for it. LOL I'm so sick of bottle-forumla ballads!
