Revisiting Lost Highway

I agree that WLOL is a great song that got too much flak when it came out because it wasn't a 'rocker' or whatever. It and Any Other Day are tremendous. The rest of the album doesn't do too much for me--WGIGO and ILTT can be launched into the sun--but it's been in a while since I listened to it through.

Just listened to the live performance, not as good as I remembered although Whole Lot of Leaving is absolutely fantastic. Lost Highway, Memory, Any Other Day, Strangers and I Love This Town are the other ones I like. I think I rate Bounce higher than LH now.

I also really like Whole Lot of Leavin'. Well made song.

Any Other Day is excellent and criminally overlooked by the band.

Glad Whole Lot of Leavin' is getting the recognition it deserves.

It's one of my top 5 favourite Jovi songs ever.

Lost Highway as a whole is a good album. One of my favourite, if not THE favourite, post-2000 albums by the band.

Make a memory, whole lotta leaving and everybody's broken are top songs, the only thing that could have made them better is if they were recorded in '95 with Peter Collins and JB, RS co-production.

Any other day is cool but it is actually cooler live with the extended solos.

WGIGO is fun but again I would rather a different sound, less crystal smooth. Maybe some 80s style sound would be cooler for that. I don't know why I m focusing so much on sound and production but somehow I think it drives a lot of what the final result is.

The rest of the songs not very interesting and the Leann Rimes duet I find cringe.

Put the boy back in cowboy is one of my favourites. Great to sing along to when you’re driving.
