I was listening to Slippery the other day, and the song that really wow'd me again was I'd Die For You. It's a testament to the overall strength of SWW that a song as good, and as first/second single worthy as IDF4U, is nothing but an album track on that record.

I often underapreciate how good SWW is, I guess because I'm a die hard fan and own all their other albums, I just don't bother milking it. Also, I'm sick to death of Livin' On A Prayer, purely because it's gets played so much and my mates seem to think it's my all time favourite song ever. Hense it's an album I don't play all that much these days. Last time I played it all the way through was early 2006 when I bought the dualdisc vesion.

I don't tend to give it much attention personally, purely because I don't think it needs any more exposure than it already has (same with Def Leppard's Hysteria for example), plus I think New Jersey is WAY better.

It's a great album, but I just leave it at that. Still it's usually a joy whenever i DO listen to it.

I remember getting sick of Never Say Goodbye actually. That's one song I haven't heard in a year or so.

Social Disease was never a track I'd put on my ipod. I never cared for the horns in it. And though it came before, I think it's a lesser version of Bad Medicine.

Well as there is only 3 years to the 25th Anniversary of the release of Slippery.Wouldnt it be cool if they ,while re-releasing the "special anniversary disk" include mastered versions of the Demo's that were done for it.Seeing as it is a fairly short album(43 min)these could fit in quite easily.

SWW is my joint favourite Bon Jovi album (with TD).

There is not a song on there that i think is anything less that brilliant. Yes i am including Social Disease and Without Love.

Let it Rock - Great album opener with the Pink Flamigos intro makes the album sound like a proper event when you stick it on.
Bad Name/Livin On a Prayer - Pure genius, it's rock for the charts but who cares? Listen to that voice/guitar/drums. An album would be lucky to have one of these on it let alone both!
Social Disease - Pure fun, dirty rock song. Makes you want to go out to some sleazy club and just dance all night, who cares about the lyrics and stuff in all honesty? (and they aren't that bad even!).
Wanted - Nothing to say about this that hasn't been said a thousand times.
Raise Your Hands - The one song that makes me relive being at a Bon Jovi gig the most, and makes me want to be at one!
Without Love - What is bad about this song? Nothing! Forget the songs that would've, could've, should've been on here and appreciate it for what it is. It's not the same league of travesties as say Crush having She's a Mystery on in the place of Stay for example. Get over it and turn it up.
I'd Die For You - Jesus i forget about this song sometimes, just how great it is. Top 5 Bon Jovi song.
Never Say Goodbye - Gives us chance to pause for breath! IMO every gig should finish with this song.
Wild In the Streets - My favourite Bon Jovi solo is in this song. and yeah like all the others just ace.

Sorry to sound so 'fan girl' which i try to avoid at all costs, but i truly love this album. Rip this post to shreds if you like....i will just be over here with SWW turned up to 11

What's so bad about actually loving something the band has done? That's what brought most of us here in the first place. It's nice to read something positive.

I'm sure it's been said before, but 5 words: EDGE OF A BROKEN HEART.

I do love Slippery though. Haven't listened to it in ages but I like every song on there (though NJ is the better album of the 80s).
