Default Richie dubbed over on Unplugged

Pardon me for being late to the party on this one but Richie's solo's were re-recorded on Unplugged right? Could any other guitar players take a look at Who says and Lost Highway and confirm that whats being played is way off than what we're hearing?

The solo on Lost Highway looks a bit off, especially toward the end. It doesn't show him much during the solo, and I doubt I would have noticed if you hadn't said something ( I knew there were problems at the show, but I didn't know there were overdubs), but his positioning looks like he is staying on the B and E String, but then the notes go an octave lower.

Who Says looks fine to me. Maybe someone else can notice a difference, but it looks fine to me.

Who Says is fine until it goes to that descending run. He's clearly picking the D and B strings (as always) but you only hear one string. I can't be crazy.

I don't know if there was overdubs but I remember Jon making a point of saying that Richie was a mess and he made a point of saying there was no time for overdubs which I always that was odd, to just bring up the fact. I'm trying to find the exact quote.

I can't figure out the guitar easily, but I can say that some It's alright's sound too loud when he is far from the mic.

Plausible.

While searching for the info there were some neat (and shoddy reporting) facts. Had no idea they did Joey at the show.

Had there been overdubs they could/should have overdubbed wanted. On who says I think it's Jon's guitar we're hearing louder, was he playing the solo along with Richie during that time or did that start later???

I didn't even think of that! I know he does it when they do it electric but having him do it when they're both on acoustics is silly. I'll have to check. Good call though.

EDIT: Nope, Jon's not playing the solo. The end note lasts longer than his hand is even on the fretboard. Sorry, I'm calling fake on this one.

Weird, I know he's played it at acoustic events but bobby probably does the rhythm parts in those cases. It just never sounded like such a good show for it to have overdubs done, but they probably did a rushed job on those and maybe wanted was so far gone that overdubs would not have helped? It is an interesting topic, and one that got me interested in watching this again, I might do it once I get to the holiday break....

I feel like with Richie playing like he was it'd be a good show for overdubs. I mean there's no way we'll know for sure but watching the solo of Who Says really makes me wonder.
