Bon Jovi star Richie Sambora has denied claims his love for actress Denise Richards sparked the end of his marriage to Heather Locklear.

The guitarist stunned fans when he was spotted kissing his wife's former best friend in April, just four months after Locklear filed for divorce, and has been hounded by reports of a secret affair ever since.

He tells Us Weekly magazine, "I will do anything to enable all of us to move past all of this. I remained faithful during my marriage. And I defy anyone to refute that."

Sambora's representative adds, "His family is his number one priority. Richie is the greatest guy, and he wouldn't do anything to hurt anyone close to him."

BON JOVI rocker RICHIE SAMBORA has rubbished reports he is dating former BOND girl DENISE RICHARDS, insisting he's still single. The LIVIN' ON A PRAYER guitarist stunned fans when he was spotted kissing his wife HEATHER LOCKLEAR's former best friend Richards in April (06), just four months after Locklear filed for divorce, and has been hounded by reports of a romance ever since. But speaking after a performance in Dusseldorf, Germany, where Bon Jovi are currently touring, Sambora claimed, "Tell my female fans I am single and ready to party." Reports claimed Richards had been invited to join the rocker and his band as they continue their Have A Nice Day tour in Europe this summer (06).

He barely said anything in the magazine. Just what is quoted here. His "sources" do most of the talking. I wasn't aware that Heather tried to break the pre-nup. What does that say about who brought what into the marriage? Maybe you're right and Richie should follow Heather's classy example of filing for divorce and letting him find out from a reporter.

On an aside note, I bet this is the most publicity any member of the band has got for years ... and possibly more so than the band itself in fact

I doubt Jon and co. are too happy though to be honest. They have a tradition of keeping matters internally don't they, and are not keen on this kind of publicity.

I hope it all wors out for Richie as he comes across as a great guy, I still hold out a hope he'll get back together with Heather but then again I'm an optimist !

I heard on the radio this morning that there is a company making t-shirts printed "Team Heather" and "Team Denise". Team Heather sales are ahead 87% to 13%.
