Oh lord. I've never heard so much BS in all my life. I assume his heart is in the right place and I have no way of knowing if he's on anything or not, but this is embarrassing nonetheless.

i think he sounds incoherent when speaking. his attempt at saying "PHILANTHROPIC" was hilarious.

I've been in that state many times but i m not a 55 year old guy

oh how i wish i was in his shoes however

He looks pretty much like the way he did before when the booze (and whatever else) clearly started taking a toll on his health, weight and playing.

He got his shit back together for a bit and looked like the old, reasonably fit for his age and well lived Richie.

And now looking at that he just looks like another bloated 80s throwback rockstar. Who is that washed out 80s tajjer with his own tequilla and stupid bars? He actually reminded me of him.

I personally don't really give a shit what he gets up to these days as I've lost pretty much all respect I once had for him but his actions over the past couple of years and the way he currently looks (he's clearly off his tits on stage at the start of that video) suggests that he's maybe not the best guy to be endorsing some sort of sobriety programme.

Samy Hagar? That guy is 10 years older than Richie.

Could be him or some other washed up 80s reality show waste of space. The fact he's reminded me of someone who's lived a hard life and is a decade older than him doesn't add much creedence to the idea of him being on the wagon....

I'm no fan of Hagar, but love Van Halen. It is Hagar you are on about when referencing opening bars. He looks like a surf bumb because he kind of is, but since leaving Van Halen Hagar developed his own tequila and sold it on for $85 million a few years later, turned one bar into a chain of I think three or four, makes the music he wants including working with Joe Satriani, Chad Smith, and Michael Anthony with Chickenfoot and as far as I am aware is not a drinker any more.

You picked the wrong 80's rocker to call washed up, you could have just looked in Hagar's old band and said Eddie Van Halen for example and you would have been closer. Richie is far more washed up than Hagar unfortunately.

Agreed, Hagar is doing VERY well. Also released his biography not too long ago. Dude is loaded with cash, and did quite a bit on his own.

Eddie looks kinda rough, but his playing is top notch since he sobdered up, and he seems to be having a blast playing alongside his kid. He's looked better, but as far as the musicianship goes, he's hardly washed up.

Really, Richie, as far as looks and musicianship goes, has detoriated more than most other a-level acts. Especially guitar players. Even Warren DeMartini, whose band is hardly a top bill act nowadays, is still in way better shape than Richie.

Oh yeah for sure on Eddie. I did say you'd be closer, but true Ed looks better than he has in years and even at his worst his playing was never really in question.

I agree about Richie's playing too. I still enjoy watching him, but he has slid some way in terms of guitar playing while many other guys seem to get better.

Are we actually arguing semantics here? Hagar might be doing this or that but he's not exactly the epitomy of health and wellbeing in the looks department.

It could be Hagar, it could be Pete Burns for the difference it makes, in the past couple of years Richie has gone from being pretty fit, healthy and looking good for a guy in his 50s that's ridden the rock n roll train for the past 30ish years to now looking pretty shitty.

I still stand by
