You know, if Richie is so damn wonderful and really is the reason behind the band's success, why is it the band can fill a stadium without him and Richie couldn't fill a bathroom at a New Jersey fast food restaurant?

I'm really beginning to loathe him.

“I’m having a great time,” he says. “Going out there and being the lead singer and being the band leader, there’s a lot of musical freedom there, which makes me very happy.”

I think this is also part of his problem, never being the main guy/lead singer on stage, calling the shots. Jealousy is not pretty at any age.

Someone needs to kick his ego in the teeth. He didn't write a damn thing on his own and this is exactly what it sounds like he's saying when he says this stuff.

I think Jon, Tico, and Dave need to collectively get together and officially fire him.

Why does Jon need Tico and David to do that?

I don't feel the need to explain something that seems so obvious. Besides, even if I did explain it to you, you couldn't see it through your Richie colored glasses. I'm not getting into another blow by blow with you over Richie. You see him the way you see him and I'm not going to try to convince you otherwise, but don't try to convince me otherwise either.

It was a simple question - I didn't think Jon needed anybody's approval to fire anybody. But I guess you'd know ...

Richie should just stop talking, really.

That's not going to happen anytime soon. But it would be nice if he could just man up and tell interviewers "Ya know, I don't wanna talk about the band, I'm here to promote my projects." Why spend so much time talking about a band that, according to him, held him down creatively for 30 years?
