I'm Irish and it did get some attention over here; mainly internet stuff. It's all a bit embarrassing as he comes across as a stereotypical ignorant American who doesn't have a clue what he's talking about.

Jon has to take some serious history and geography lessons before the next European Tour

Not to mention Bono wasn't even raised as a Catholic
