Obviously not. Because none of that has anything to do with whether you're an alcoholic/addict or not. I don't agree that those things describe you, and I actually take offense at some of the descriptions; but people are referring to your posts, not your "habits" or lack thereof.
Their comments have more to do with the fact that you pop into a conversation, and throw out a provocative statement that 1) has nothing to do with the current discussion, 2) has no purpose other that rekindling a controversy that has been done to death, 3) has no basis in reality, and 4) makes a blanket judgment about an entire group of individuals, as if they are all the same, when you don't know the vast majority of them and, therefore, have no way of understanding their individual circumstances.
You categorically state that there is no excuse for becoming an addict or an alcoholic, as if that were a common fact, when it is actually far from it. Research, not to mention common sense, indicates that most people who drink or take drugs don't
intend to become addicts or alcoholics. Just like people don't set out to become homeless or sexually abused, even though they often make unwise choices that lead them into those situations.
If you don't drink or take drugs, or have never experienced addiction, be thankful for that. If it were me, I'd consider it a blessing; not an excuse to assume I know what it's like to face, or deal with, those particular temptations.
