There are some celebrity “friendships” you see plastered all over social media where it’s pretty obvious that they’re played up for mutual publicity, while with other friendships you know they exist but they’re pretty much completely absent from social media.

Whether Desmond was telling the truth in that interview - who knows. Maybe he was. Or maybe he was lying to avoid meddling with whatever announcement plans the Bon Jovi camp might have. Who knows.

If Desmond was telling the truth and Richie was lying or talking out of his ass or whatever I find it quite difficult to figure out WHY though. It’s not good publicity for his solo album as it completely takes the focus away from it, it’s also not gonna be such great publicity for him as a person if it turns out that he was lying about reuniting with Bon Jovi, and if he did it to put pressure on Jon to take him back or just to try and plant the idea of a reunion I’d like to think that Richie is smart enough to realize, that going around telling lies about Jon and the future of the band as well as blabbing about the touchy subject of Jon’s voice is probably not the way to get Jon to welcome him back with open arms. So what does Richie get out of it if he was really lying? Other than his own bullet in his foot.

Oh my bad then, had no idea about that “tiny” detail :P

For what it’s worth, Richie was asked by Desmond to join him on stage in Athens to do the BJ songs but Richie had rehab / addiction issues at the time. June 2022

Maybe I misunderstood, but are you saying Richie had rehab/addiction issues in June of 2022?

Nonsense. Richie was in the UK at the end of June (Desmonds gig was on the 27th)

This was 2 days before

He was also interviewed on GB news the same day....

And here he is a few days after at the Hollywood Bowl...

We have a shrink on board, folks! Panos is apparently Richie's personal therapist and knows things no one else knows

i think people look way too much into comments just to find something they want to prove.

there has been zero proof (not including the bloke on the golf course in this) that richie is coming back other than richie going around saying it.

have i mssed anyone reliabe saying its happening - not twitter people like Jerry (hes back tracked a bit now on the re-union) or Mitch Lafron who wants it to happen so says it will everyday but theres nothing concrete so far.

???

It's a mix of that golf event Tico was last year, Tico telling someone Richie was back. The interview Richie gave and Mitch hyping it up with a specific announcement date attached to it.

The tin-foil-hat in me thinks something was going to/supposed to happen and fell apart but the realist in me says I got too excited at the prospect and ran with half baked theories

After all this Richie talk, who knows if Jon will ever be able to tour again.

I was watching some videos from that 2020 tour and thought, even if Richie was inserted, it would still be a complete disaster. Jon comes up with his own random pauses throughout each song that completely throws off the balance of anyone singing backup.

I compared LTOR from 2013 to 2020 and what a difference 9 years made (And that gap could even be narrowed further). I think Jon's main issue is breathing. It's almost like a pipe is closed and he only has a limited time to get the lyrics out.

That's what I've been told by the guy who helped Desmond organize the event and was in charge of everything. I commented on the lack of BJ representation in such a big / iconic night that's a pity (since nobody was touring at that time) and his response was "Richie has addiction / rehab problems, and Jon, just no".

FYI, I was the first to inform the board that there will be a BJ tour in 2022, so I got my own sources, don't have to lie about anything and thus idc about what you might think either

In no way am I implying anyone is lying but.....given the amount of time Richie spent in the UK for the promo shows and The Masked Singer, I don't get how that is possible.
