I wouldn't be surprised if nothing happened last year (regarding Richies album) because of all the publicity that'll come from the 40th Anniversary stuff. Seemed like he had planned to do something early last year, with Masked Singer, but then got properly talking to Jon about the 40th stuff and he decided to wait a bit. I don't know, just guessing and trynna give the guy the benefit of the doubt, but he's making it hard haha

Richie was always awfull with his solo career. The only thing that keeps me optimistic is that there are songs already finished, and that at some point they will have to come out. I love the guy but he's total disaster, haha.

You are giving Richie way too much credit here! The only one talking about reuniting is him because that's the only thing he'd have to say that would interest the media. He doesn't seem like he plans much in his solo career, just winging it as he goes.....

so to all those who said they had seen and heard info that Richie was 100% back.....what happened?

I don't recall anyone ever saying that except Mitch Lafon who really can't be used as a reliable source of information.

At this point in the movie, I don't give a shit if Richie comes back to the band or not, of course I would love for him to come back, and it would be a great explosion.. but I have learned that the road does not end despite his absence.

I just want the guy to release his own music once and for all, he has a lot of talent and doesn't need Bon Jovi, just a little consistency with his music to build his path.

My opinion - which isn't exactly a hot take - is that Jon has closed the door on Richie. It is not surprising but still disappointing. Regarding Richie, I do not understand why he has been unable to release at least a few songs over the last years. It doesn't make sense unless he is lying about how much he has written or the quality of what he has written. Or perhaps he just likes the creative process more and doesn't care about sharing his work.

I mean, we've heard clips of several tracks, he's performed a few live. He has the material, he's just not putting it out - god only know why. It makes no sense! Such wasted time.

I'm not really bothered about him rejoing the band now - I feel like that ship has sailed. But I really think he should be involved in the 40th celebrations in some way more than just a interview for a documentary.

yeah i think if it wasnt confirmed already then the lack of Richie during the 40th year means an end to the speculation.
They said he couldnt make Jons thing the other month due to his mum having a fall,,,so where was he last night?
Does annoy seeing Evritt and Shanks there and not Richie.

Especially with regards to the documentary, which will mainlly focus on the Richie era. My guess is he just wasn't invited by Jon. Petty.
