He has definitely got his mojo back. Good to see him looking and sounding good and enjoying playing.

This makes me feel pretty damn good frankly. Suddenly after years of pain things are looking up.

Richie is an artist and he clearly needs to concentrate on his performance and let a professional team handle everything else.

I too think it would be best if he concentrated on singing and someone else did the heavy lifting on guitar. If only there would have been someone able to do just that in recent years instead of shitty duettos and - let's not go there.. kekw

Such a good point. But therein is the rub, would people really want to hear him play guitar or sing lead? I think it's clear, and I'm not knocking the guy, he can't do both at the same time. It's a lot of....fumbling around with pedals and his volume/tone knobs and missed vocals. If he's singing lead, do I really want someone else there playing lead guitar though? I don't think I would. But gosh do I like his voice.

Good points. But as far as his solo stuff goes I think singing is priority #1 to me.

I personally think this is a lot down due to no proper rehearsal. I think Richie in this state could still sing and play guitar when he puts effort in and rehearses properly. It won't be perfect but I personally would rather have Richie doing both instead of someone else playing for example Stranger in this town on guitar.

I agree with you. Richie performing without a guitar is very awkward to watch as it is not his natural habitat. Singing and playing guitar at the same time is what he always did, and it's the only thing he has to do.

i agree..with some rehearshals and some shows after the belt he will perform on a higher lvl..
Richie definetely needs a director on stage, like luke ebin in a way...trying to contact the band members on the spot is a lose lose situation for everyone...
this last show was a welcome surprise..

Yes and no. I think there's big leap of difference between being the lead guitarist singing backing vocals along with three or four others (Albeit the most prominent second vocalist) and being the lead vocalist AND lead guitarist and to me that's where he's suffered. I think with enough rehearsal he can pull it off. But switching from soling to lead vocals with rhythm is where he seems to suffer.

Get him a pro-team and I think he can turn it all around if he wants to bad enough.

He could still play lead on some songs. He never seems to have a problem with Stranger or Wanted for example. I believe on the Stranger tour his guitar player took a solo or two. I'll be There for you was one I think and Richie played the acoustic.

Well on his first two solo tours he managed to do that very well and 2012 was still decent as well.
He could have someone to play the lead guitar parts in his songs and just concentrate on singing + doing the lead solo.
