The wording indicates this was their first project together, making me think it's more recent than the Masked Singer stuff.
It says the file was modified 2 years ago so it was around the time of The Masked Singer by the looks of it. 20250130_211726.jpg

Richie may have a bit more power, but Jon's delivery is noticeably smoother and more passionate. Back in 2007, Jon performed without any effects other than some mic echo. In contrast, this performance is loaded with various effects, including autotune. Richie also sounds like he's auditioning for The Voice.

But I immediately recognized this vocal as the same one from The Masked Singer. Some parts might have even been mixed into the final version that aired on the show. He likely recorded multiple takes, and this release is just a different mix from an alternate outtake.

Btw: Richie is not doing the Jeff Buckley version, he's more so doing the JBJ version. It's so great... Richie leaves Bon Jovi and then covers one of Jon's covers.

This is a great interview. I'd wager it was a few months before he left and without restarting the debate, dude is speaking clearly and looks great. Wild how different he was within a year.

But still, a world where Aftermath's promo and tour lasted a year and then the band came back would have been so good.

This was a very funny reply

And of course he aint covering JBJ. Its been covered by so many artists since John Cale and Jeff Buckley gave it a new life in the ninetees.

It's wild to say but Rufus Wainwright covering it in Shrek had a lot to do with the resurgence.

No one has done anything fresh with the arrangement and been successful, and it's not a song people mess with often out of reverence.

So, here's something unexpected...

Richie will perform with Orianthi today at Rock For Resonders.

Apparently Phil X is also performing...

Ori recently had to pull out of Alice Cooper dates because she injured her hip and had to do some solo shows sitting down. So I think maybe Richie has just stepped in to help her out.

Hopefully phil and Richie get together and think of a way to convince Jon to ditch Shanks
