I thought he sounded awful.

Especially on IML .. the 'I ain't going to live forever' part was hideous.

I hate to say this, but i think somewhere between 2006-07 and now Richie's voice has deteriorated drastically. Unfortunatly, i think Jon's voice has surpassed his in every way now, and this is coming from somebody who LOVES Richie's solo stuff. Its almost painful trying to hear him keep up with lyrics and his voice cracks almost every time a tone change happens. Very sad stuff...Even worse, he seems to be slipping on the solos and bridges of all the songs he's been playing, even the older ones. I don't know what has happened to him but I hope the best he gets better come February when the tour starts.

I just think he was sick...or something...he was great in Follow and Prayer...
his voice failed sometimes in IML, but I don't think it's deteriorating...he sang IBTFY this year in some shows and it was great!

Richie's voice sounds awful. He misses quite a few notes, but it does sound like he's sick. Reminds me of the Tokyo 2008 show.

The guys are starting to show their age a little, listening to Richie and Jon nowadays is certainly a different experience, they strain more on high notes.

I'd rather strained and very throaty Richie than the nasal and soulless Jon we got at the promo appearances. At least Richie sounds as if he wouldn't rather be somewhere else and like he means it a bit.
