Default Richie Vs Slash

I have to say that these 2 are my all time favourite rock guitarists, the way they can pour so much emotion into a song with their playing. But, whos the best any why? What makes one better than the other?
Technique wise I cant see how either of them could improve that much, so whos better and why?

Personally I think Slash just edges it, I think his solos just slightly tip Richie's, but I don't know why, just like the sound I guess.
Also, if anyone has heard Jacko's Give in to Me, Slash's guitaring on that song is sooo sooo soooo good.

I think itīs kinda hard to say which one is better since they donīt play same kind of music. Actually I donīt even know what Slash is doing these days since I lost interest on him when he left/was kicked out of GnīR. But both of them are good on what theyīre doing. And I agree with you on Give In To Me, itīs excellent.

Hasn't he got a band called Slashe's Snake Pit?

I'd say Richie, but this is largely down to the fact that I prefere Bon Jovi to GnR, and I've seen Richie live 5 times (and will see him again another two times in June), and I've never seen Slash, and have actually only heard a small selection of his mucis (probably about 6 songs)...

Although, Slash is good on the Bad Company DVD, he plays on Wishing Well (I think it's this song), and does an excelent job....

I'd also say that Slash probably plays a bit more on the edge than Sambora these days, still dressing and acting like the rock star...

Of the point, Slash asked fans to send in tapes to audition for his band in America didn't he.... this was pretty cool.

NOT AGAIN!!!

I'd say Richie.
Why?
Just because he can play fast solos and slow solos, heavy metal riffs and blues riffs and and he can play everything Slash can play.

Imagine SLASH playong the KEEP THE FAITH LIVE solo or the DRY COUNTY solo.He probably couldn't.
But Richie could play any of Slash solos.I think the 2nd ALWAYS solo in Wembley 1995 is very close to SLASH's style but it's better!

I personally think none of them is better than the orther. They both are good but not groundbreaking guitarists. They both are excellent players. Richie seems more diverse but he had more chances than Slash to show himself off because he made more records. Slash's g'n'r solos are more memorable to general public though.

What dry county is not memorable?. Im sorry but i know a few good guitarists who think slash if very poor on the petatonic scale(i think thats how it is spelled). And one of the best solos i think has to be dammed.

For Bon Jovi fans, yes. But for general public I think GnR guitar solos are more memorable. What Bon Jovi guitar solos are really famous? Probably, WDOA and the talk box thing. IMO GnR got more famous solos. Appetite for Destruction gave birth to plenty of them. All that record is outstanding. I listen to that and say WOW, I so love guitar worh here! May be technically Richie is a better guitar player. But Slash is so memorable. For me they are equal.
