The guys in the band is old. Its not that usual for guys in that age to be as active as they are now. Try too imagine your parents do the same things as the guys do.

They will never make records or performances like they once did. Its like working at the same work your whole life. The most of us just dosent put that much effort in too it after a while.

AC/DC and Bruce Springsteen are older but they put more effort than Bon Jovi in their records and performances.

Best regards,

Richie has seen and done it all. It's no wonder he's got a little lazy.

At least he doesn't look like a big red lobster anymore.

Not the fact that they're all very old now, and with a Greatest Hits tour coming up, they don't have long left. You're so bloody cynical yourself.
FFS... Well, okay, I might be cynical, but at least I'm not incompetent. You stated that if Bon Jovi were to take a break, it would be the beginning of the end of Bon Jovi. Right, okay, real positive outlook on life right there. I just said (not referring to their farking age in any way) that it would not be the end, because they need to take a break to get the inspiration back. I would agree if you had said that if they went on with this pace, writing good though mediocre albums in comparison to others, then it would be the beginning of the end. But I doubt Bon Jovi will ever die, because it's just what they do. They are going to write the album that we're waiting for, don't you worry about that.

Damn, people really get charged around here when someone mentions "the end".

Okay, you didn't reference their age, but I did. Which is what my whole point was about and you reacted fairly badly.

After a break (which would be around four years, presumably), they'll all be getting very old and inspiration doesn't always come with time away, which many people seem to think it does. They aren't ever gonna write an album as good as 'New Jersey'/'Keep The Faith'/'These Days'. 'The Circle' is a good album, and it's probably the best they can do nowadays. However, they can still put on a hell of a live show. So I don't see what all the complaining is about.

Oh dear, misunderstandings. I understand your point of view, I still don't agree, but I get it. We can discuss it all we want, but I guess only time will tell.

So that brings us to 2.
Aside from how subjective the term "solo" applies when Neil Young is playing the guitar.

How many of those tunes were written in the last 20 years?

Guitar solos are simply not relevant in popular music today. The last time a big hit had a lengthy decent solo in it was Santanas Smooth and that's about 10 years old now.

Strangely I was thinking that very same thing when I was at that Leefest thing at the weekend. Not a single one of the bands I saw seemed to do guitar solos. Kinda disappointed me as I like them...not huge displays of fretwanking, but from the heart, you know?

For the record, Spirit Road is 3 years old, F*!#in Up 20 and Rockin' In The Free World just missing out and 21. And damnit, Neil plays soulful guitar
