CHROME

black and gold hardware just looks cheap and tacky.

unless that's the look you're going for

i love that doubleneck. i've been tempted to get a quote for a doubleneck tele like he uses nowadays but i can't afford it though. i have got a custom built doubleneck acoustic based on his taylor. it's cool cos the label inside says "AA 00001" i feel almost famous. i'll post a pic if anyone would like to see. thanks for the advice on the pups. which models have you fitted?

Yeah, definitely post a pic!

I have the SD Hotrails for neck positions fitted in the neck and middle. Warm and bluesy but can crunch and distort like a Gibson. You can also get coil-tapping sorted for them but I didn't bother as it would mean more switches on a pickguard that can only be described as a 'work of art'!

The chrome/black dilemma was for my black paisley Jim, not the Fender Strat doubleneck project which will have gold hardware (which I will get round to eventually!).

indeed it's very ugly
the picture is not big enough to see if there is the famous speedloader

(by the way Korean guitars are not all the time so ugly..stupid remarks)

but another one from this tour really horrible..beurk

I've had a rummage on my computer and i found these pics already on there. they're not great but i hope they come out ok. the firt one is my gold strat replica, hopefully warmoth will be able to make a neck for me with small stars. If they do then i'll post another pic when it's done. the second is my custom made double neck acoustic. it would have cost a fortune to have one built in koa like richie but i love this baby all the same. it has a really wicked pickup made by headway, it's not synthetic sounding at all. Hopefully i'll do some acoustic versions of bj songs with it and post them in the mp3 section soon. Any comments are welcome!

thanks for the pics of the wierd guitars. i've always wondered what make the one with the engraved metal was and the black nd white one deffinately has a speedloader fitted. richie's tech had something to do with the new range FR guitars i think that's why richie's started using all these guitar fitted with them. i was quite far forward in the crowd and on the big screen i could deffinately see either "sambora" or "sambo" on the headstock, it sort of goes smaller so it's hard to tell the end of it.

Oh by the way i'm selling a heil talk box on ebay if anyones interested

He has been getting guitars made by Shimo in Japan.

http://www.shimoguitars.com/

Some strange shaped ones on the website, similar to his ones.

hi, guys the pearloid type guitars do have speadloaders on them, if you look closely there are no machine heads. I wonder if richie was made to use the official speedloader guitars so he could use floyds trems on his own instruments.

I do think that those pearloid guitars are awful. He released a signature kramer called the jersey star although i have never seen him play one.

As far as fender goes, when i seen him in manchester he had a blonde tele but with no name on the headstock so it must have got a little messy?

wish they were still making the mark 2 sambora strat as i would love to add one to my collection.

Check out my 96 usa sambo strat in vintage white a little rarer than the cherry sunburst one www.putfile.com/andymarshal

He also seems to be very fickle on amps recently he now uses diezel amps and strangley only 2, i as use to seeing him with ten stacks behind him and a strat like on the these days dvd from wembley

I would love to see richie playing fender again.

Cheers Andy

on a standard floyd rose, you cut he ball ends off and then tune up and lock the nut down.

The speedloader strings have 2 bullet type ends on one for the bridge and one for the nut. i think the string is pre streatched and therfore only requires a slight tunning from th bridge end. therefore no machine heads and string changes are really quick

hope this helps
