I contacted warmoth recently to ask them about a custom doubleneck strat with flame AAA maple top in cherryburst so that I can build the LYHOM axe Richie used on the These Days and Crossroad Tours (Live From London vid).

Very expensive quote - something like £600 for the body alone but they are a really friendly bunch and offer a fair amount of flexibility with their custom orders.

Let me know if they can do them cos I'd be interested to know for the doubleneck project (although I'd obviously be after the big stars).

I think the pups in the strats he used on the OWN tour (the gold and the white with tortoiseshell scratchplate) had Seymour Duncan Hotrails in the neck and middle positions.

I, to the horror of most collectors, committed the ultimate sacrilage by installing two Duncan Hotrails in the same positions in my Black Paisley Sambora strat. It looks and sounds so much better now that I did though! I'm tempted to get rid of the naff (rather rust stained) licensed Floyd Rose Bridge and replace it with a Black Original Floyd Rose trem but can't decide whether a chrome one might actually look better on it.

Decisions, decisions!
