I won't answer since I do like them all... BOG and SITT are both great, DA and UD not so great...

I think Richie didn't quite achieve what he was aiming for with UD and Jon filled DA with, well, fillers...

Aloha !

I voted for Richie, he wrote 2 masterpieces, Jon only one. Destination Anywhere. I like the atmosphere that record has. Still a bit like These Days, and it's like Jon's telling a story or so.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I voted for richie. To me, the choice was easy. Stranger In This Town is one of my favorite albums by anyone.

I prefer Jon's solo work. No questions about it.

Jon is a great songwriter. He is well balanced. He doesn't abuse melodies, nor lyrics.

As for Richie, I understand all that guitar hero thing but Richie writes good songs only when Jon helps him.

I donīt think so. There are people who have the bad habit of confront Richie and Jon.
Richie has done very good songs. Jon has done very good songs. Jon & Richie have done very good songs.
Both are excellent songwriters.

That's really a tough question but I go for Jon's.

BoG was a masterpiece, no question, a perfect record.
SITT as well, Stranger is a little bit better because its more meaningfull, although you have to say that it was difficult for Jon to put much meaning in a soundtrack.

DA is really a great record, sure it isn't a rock record but it isn't a pop record either. It has a lot of technique but the songs are some kind of country songs maybe?

US has some great songs too but I think Richie was to concirned this time about the selling reates and that's why we get some flat songs like Chained or made in America and Hard times come easy; tey have this sing-along character, I don't like it very much. so finally Jon's the winner.
