It is not about what they would have played or would not have played on stage. It is about the fact that Bon Jovi's music has had an impact. I mean I could sit here and defend them all day long. But let's look at it this way, I don't care for U2 or Metallica's music so does that mean that if they deserved the right to be in the Hall of Fame that I would just say that their music could be "thrown out and it wouldn't matter". No, that is not the right thing to do. And yes alot of the Hall Of Fame is all about the critics and not the fans, but when and how do we change that but to stand up to them when they are wrong.
