Only Joey had died before they were inducted and it was pretty much known they were going in that year before he died.

Anyway, it would be nice to see them go in for recognition sake but the whole thing is Jann Wenner's mastabatory fantasy anyway, so it depends on how he feels that week.

Jon's been looking forward to this, but it's very doubtful they'll get in within the next 5 years. I'd love to be proven wrong though.

I'd like to think the voters would get their heads out of their asses and induct Kiss, and Alice Cooper already!!!!

I agree with you ..to be nominated is one thing to get inducted is another ... I hope alice cooper gets in this time and I cannot help but think Kiss has to be there (with several other big names) before jovi can .....

Meanwhile, The Beastie Boys, LL Cool J, and Neil Diamond have a chance of getting in. Chuck "King of The Stroll" Willis and Joe Tex are cool--one thing the Hall does do right is recognize the role of '50s and '60s rhythm and blues in the evolution of rock music. But what the heck are Donna Summer and Chic doing in the mix? They cannot be serious!!!

I'm still stunned that they were nominated. This site lists the 2010 Nominating Committee - http://www.futurerocklegends.com/Nom..._Committee.php - but I don't know if that's the committee that chose the class that was nominated for induction during 2010 or if that's the committee that worked this year to nominate the 2011 class. If that's the current committee, I wonder if Dave Marsh missed a meeting.

You win a Big LOL Award, lol!

And don't get me started on Dave Marsh! I remember a review where Marsh, whose wife is Springsteen's co-manager, called Jon an "opportunist." I wrote back, "If Dave Marsh is qualified to call someone an opportunist, then Hugh Hefner is qualified to call someone a pimp!"

And now you know why--he has a professional link to Springsteen, and loves him so immensely he's made it his mission to keep Jovi from knocking him off the top of the "Jersey boy rock god" heap.
