And why can't they both exist anyway? They certainly don't seem to have a problem with one another. Just because they're from the same area, there's this manufactured rivalry.

Kiss will never get in unless hell freezes over. Gene has no good will towards Jann and doesn't give a flying f*ck if they do. Black Sabbath was lucky to get in because of Ozzy and his feelings about the politics of it. I hope they get inducted but its not up to us.

True .... there is no personal rivalry between them
Profesionally I don't think there is any rivalry from Bruce himself he is older , from a very different musical stream and more popular locally nationally and universally ...he doesn't feel any pressure toward Bon Jovi ...but for sure a certain amount of his followers /worshippers/ fans though are hateful and offensive toward Bon Jovi because media compare both because of the state they come from .....

I don't think Jon feels rivalry neither but imo Jon has been influenced by Bruce a lot but now he would love to be seen as independant and possibly as respected as the boss... this recognition cannot be forced or bought though

many bon jovi fans dislike the boss for reasons that are not at all musical but from a *persona* level (just like many jovi fans think they have to hate U2) they see Bruce as the reason why bon jovi doesn't get the respect they deserve... bruce has nothing to do with the lack of recognition the band gets

That comment is rubbish in my opinion.
The Ramones were the first punk rock band.
They have a greater claim to be in there than a lot of the nominees/inductees.

IMO, there's a lot more hate for Bon Jovi among Bruce fans than there is for Bruce among Jovi fans. I'm not saying there's none over here, but it's small in comparison.

Bon Jovi is bigger than Bruce worldwide.

Go to Japan, South America, Sweden, etc, and say "New Jersey"; the people will name "Bon Jovi".

Best regards,

For once, I agree with you.

The only reason they might get in is because the committee would look really stupid. Everybody talks about KISS and Rush, but when was the last time either band had an album on the charts, let alone at #1. Bon Jovi's had 2 in the past 3 years. And 2 of the past 3 years, they had the biggest tour in the world.

Of all the nominees, it's no contest - Bon Jovi is far and away the most successfull (and still relevant) artist.

Might be true somewhere and with some people, but you're exaggerating and over-simplyfying. In Sweden, for one, Bruce Springsteen is very big. And seeing how Bon Jovi haven't had a hit there since 2000, it's safe to say that more people know about Springsteen than Bon Jovi. Besides, Jon doesn't have that good of a name in Sweden anyway, after the way he talked about the Swedish fans.

A year ago. Sonic Boom charted all over, was number 2 on Billboard 200 and number one on Rock, Hard Rock and Independent lists.

Get your facts straight before trying to impress.

Great news!! Keep our fingers crossed they are inducted. (If not this time, maybe next.) Good to see Alice Cooper on the list, too.
