Go to Japan, South America, Sweden, etc, and say "New Jersey"; the people will name "Bon Jovi".

everything about this is opinion but I truly think it is not true for me european ... there is no way bon jovi is bigger than bruce neither in term of popularity nor in term of credibility
Bon Jovi album is called New Jersey so the association with bj and new jersey exists obviously but the ARTISTS are not comparable and the biggest new jersey artist world wide is without a doubt bruce EVEN IF ppl don't know he is from new jersey if you catch my drift he is still from nj

This is stupid topic but i would say that globaly Bj are much bigger then Bruce!!!!! If we check for example, Japan, South America, Australia.......
I would say that also in England they are bigger! But thats just my opinion!
Right now popularity of Bon jovi is much much bigger than Bruce. Just check billbord or some other charts from 2000 til now......Its my life, HAND, WSYCGH,MAM, EVERYDAY, WWBTF,WTYG........
But in the end both are my heroes, Jovi and Bruce !

I guess I must see Rush the same way people see Bon Jovi - They don't hear about them, so they don't know what they're doing.

My bad. But up yours. I'm not trying to impress anyone.

Sonic Boom was by Kiss, not Rush.

I hope they make it but I also hope that doesn't make Jon's ego more bloated and he starts writing shit 'deep introspective' albums.

It's the anthems that got them this far.

Shows what I know.

I can't speak much about Rush, as I don't know much about their music. For the most part, they were before my time. As for KISS, I can see why no critics take them seriously. They're not the greatest musicians by any means, and they're money whore sell-outs to the nth degree. However, there's no denying their influence and success, so based on that, they should be in. I like KISS. Seen them a couple times in concert, and the show was great, but it's just that - A show.

The mystery of why the Hall considers rapper LL Cool J to be rock and roller is solved:
Quote:
LL Cool J always had his sights set on rock & roll...(I)n 1985...he recorded Rock the Bells, which included the following couplet:

It ain’t the glory days with Bruce Springsteen
I’m not a virgin so I know I’ll make Madonna scream

And here's what the Hall has to say about disco diva Donna Summer:
Quote:
...Her first U.S.-recorded LP...produced by Quincy Jones, featured Bruce Springsteen, Roy Bittan and many American rockers...

Wow--apparently Dave Marsh has more influence over the Hall than we thought (click here for the official Jovitalk Ominous Soap Opera Chord.) And shame on me for misjudging LL and Donna so horribly: You two have "rock cred" indeed!

Looking at UK sales, BJ destroys Bruce.

Both artists sold 120 million records. But Bruce sold 65 in the US, while BJ only 35.

Best regards,
the Sexx

I'm amazed by the nomination. But the HOF will look foolish if they don't induct a band as consistently successful as Bon Jovi. I'm not saying I expect them to induct them, just that they'll look very foolish if they pass over Bon Jovi.

Default BJ Nominated for Hall of Fame

http://www.nj.com/entertainment/inde...i_nominat.html

They've been nominated before though haven't they?

Anyhow, they're up for it along with: J. Geils Band, Donovan, Laura Nyro, Chic, Tom Waits, Alice Cooper, Dr. John, Neil Diamond, Darlene Love, Joe Tex, Chuck Willis, Donna Summer, L.L. Cool J and the Beastie Boys.

I'd like to see Alice Cooper get in too.
