No, Neil Young's original version is better I think. The lyrics are much more clear. Bon Jovi's version sounds a bit muffled.

IMO...when doing covers jovi does it same way as everyone else: raping them originals. they for sure dont add anything worthwhile to them. they have a habit of takign a classic tune and make it sound like cheap-jovi-cheese. on the other hand, I'd rather take full album of covers if it makes tlfr to go away. what a dilemma.

RITFW is one of the best covers they do. i agree about the vocal point though; the combination of two guitars gained and overdriven to the max doesn't help that situation. overall, i love it.

Well I think it depends which you hear first. I heard Bon Jovi's version of Rockin' In The Free World before I heard the original, and whereas I do like the original I prefer Bon Jovi's version.

Heh lol, I think it might be more to do with all recordings of that song by Bon Jovi are live versions. It makes a difference.

I LOVE RITFW! Its an awesome cover that they do. I haven't heard the original though.
