Default Rockin' In The Free World

Hey People!

I listened to Rockin' In The Free World from the OWN album today (great song) and realised for like the first time EVER that the lyrics that Jon is singing are different from then Neil Young original, and the ones that are on the site. Does anyone know the lyrics to Jovi's version of RITFW?

Keep On Rockin'

I don't understand why they put thissong on the album. It surfaced on a B-side years ago... they could have put one of their own tracks

Was the version on These Days-single the same that was on OWN album? Both were recorded in Johannesburg 1.12 1995 right? I think they donīt even sound the same.

Well - actually most of the songs recorded before the Crush tour were released on singles.

Nope. They should have made a real live album - the album that would at least try to show all the energy that they produce during the concerts. I don't mean they should play a special gig for this purpose (which would be nice but not necessary). The problem is that the songs, as I wrote above, were mostly released in these versions. They (the band, the recording company, whoever) weren't also capable of making this sound like a real concert - all those fade-ins and fade-outs. Compare it to e.g. live albums by GN'R or Aerosmith. They both contain songs recorded in different times on different venues, still they sound... erm... more sincere. I must say I was really disappointed when OWN was released 'cause I expected something better - most of the bootlegs do a much better job.

You're right there Datmar. OWN Live could have been such a better album..

Tack, Fredrik. Jag vet det... So far all we can do to have a proper live album is to buy bootlegs.

Rocking in the free world is a good live song, but on OWN i would have preferred they use the earlier versions of livin on a prayer, just to get that stronger energy that they use to have.

sure rocking in the free world is a pretty good song....but i would like to see bj playing their songs that they created themselves (coz there is definitly no lack of quality there)
