Arcade Fire is awesome and I definitely recommend checking them out for those who haven't. They are by far the best "new" band I've seen live. And yes they got #1 correct.

With the static sets and Richie bullsh*t I can't be too upset with Bon Jovi being snubbed, but even if this list was released in 1995 Rolling Stone still wouldn't put them in the top 50, so they still suck. If I'm not mistaken, Jon has been on the cover of that magazine the same amount of times as the Boston Bomber.

Like RS lists or not, there's a reason he's #1 and Bon Jovi aren't even in the running.
I actually have.

Is it logical to expect Bon Jovi to be on the list? With a lead singer who most of the time can't sing properly... I know they are a very successful touring act but still...

I think a lot of Bon Jovi fans live in the bubble created by the band's PR and marketing division. It's backed up by lots of figures but I don't think they are anywhere near being a relevant touring act as far as modern audiences go.

Ummmm..if singing properly is a criteria for the list, how are Neil Young, Tom Waits, Jay Z, Kanye West and Skrillex on the list. Agreed, Jon's not winning any vocalist of the year contests but he's not bad and certainly not the actual reason they are not on the list. The reason they are not on the list is Jann Wenner is still grinding his ax for whatever the reason.

Like or hate them, but bon jovi not in this list is ridiculous.
Even without RS, even with vanilla sets, even when the energy level is a bit lower than 10 years ago, they remain al top notch live band. I mean ... cologne, slane castle, .... i see many concerts but bon jovi are a top live act.

If Bruce is 1, jovi deserves to be in the top 25.

Tom is the best vocalist out there. Show me one man who can sing like him, in so many different styles and different voices.
From the brutal "I'll even scare Satan" to the most mellow "I love you baby".
I've yet to hear a man who uses his voice as an instrument like Tom.
He should be number one.
I've seen him two times and it totally blew away the audience. It was like a religious movement. Not a single sound during the songs.

As for Jovi. They are definitly top 50.

My ex boyfriend was a HUGE fan of Tom...he saw him many times live. The only record I really really like of his is Closing Time because his voice is good. There are songs of his I do appreciate musically and lyrically but vocally, nah, can't call what Tom does as singing.
