Default Rosie

OK, I have an MP3 of a Bon Jovi demo called Rosie one with JBJ on lead vocals and Richie on backing. I always assumed Rosie was Richie's song as it is on the Stranger album, so was suprised to hear Jon singing on the demo. I looked at the credits and the song was accredited to Sambora,JBJ,Child and Warren.

Does anyone know what the history of this song is? was it originally recorded for a Bon Jovi album, never made it, and then Richie phoning Jon and asking him if he minded if he used it on his solo album.

By the way, for those who haven't heard it, its a great song.

Aloha !

It was a song recorded for the New Jersey sessions, but it didn't make it to the album. Richie thought the song was too good to throw away, and asked Jon if he would mind if he'd use it for Stranger In This Town.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Really? Interesting. I didn't know that. It's still a great song

You're right. It's a great song but my favorite on Stranger is either Father Time or Ballad of Youth.

New Jersey demo of River Of Love and Richie´s River Of Love are not the same song. 2 completely different songs.

Richie's version of Rosie is ten times better, it has more groove in it.

I haven't heard the Bon Jovi demo version, but I love the song.

Was it written about someone in particular? lol.
