They didn't do the beginning of Let It Be. There was a fabulous harmonica player who played the first verse just on his own and it was so beautiful. Jon and Richie hadnt actually left the stage from the initial performance as the curtain had just lowered over them following their bows to the Queen etc, so the curtain just raised again and to be honest they looked a tiny bit confused as to what they were supposed to do but they approached the mike and started singing just the two of them (it sounded to me like Jon missed a couple of words here and there, and I know things always sound different on TV to how they sound live, so I'm hoping that it sounds ok but I have an awful feeling that the vocals won't come across as well on TV as they FELT in the venue itself). The orchestra played the song itself including the guitar solo so it isn't a figment of the imagination when you see Richie playing an acoustic yet hear a solo playing, it was the guy in the orchestra pit doing it.

Let It Be was the most amazing thing to watch, truly. I felt quite honoured to have witnessed it. I just hope that my fears are allayed and that it sounds as brilliant on TV as it FELT when that curtain raised to just Jon and Richie.

to say the whole thing was magical is an understatement. Truly a great evening...wait til you hear the coughs to queue the Queen for Russell Brand!! I was shocked that all these old people ( and when I say old I mean they were in their 90s) got in on the joke with him. I HOPE they leave the coughs in because it really made the whole procession thing really funny. i have a feeling they will be dubbed out though.

For those who know who Phillip Schofield is, he was really really enjoying standing next to Richie and belting out Let It Be at the top of his voice lol!
