I agree. We got a glimpse in the new songs, but hopefully a Richie album would prove to us that he's still got it.

(cue me on the big screen) JBJ: "How good have you been? Oh My God!" (laughs, more teasing) JBJ: "You want it huh, you want it huh? Blood on Blood just for you, the good girl in the front row? The all request hour, the girl in the front row has just asked for Blood on Blood, ok, Merry Christmas young lady!" Amazing <3

Some new solo material has been over due for a long time. I like both Jon and Richie's work and I'm eagerly anticipating a new album by one or both of them. Maybe then they'll stop writing catchy bullshit and start writing what comes more naturally to them.

I don't find this surprising at all, as to buy his NFL team he will need even more $$$, than these 2 years of touring will bring.

The idea of a solo album for him, to take another direction or whatever is one I don't buy, because it looks like the only direction he follows these days is the one to the bank.

Richie's solo album is another story, there has been plenty of talk about it for a long time, so I hope it comes true and I will be excited about it.

Just out of curiosity, why does it bother you so much that Jon is a rich guy, and or that he has a personal dream or goal to own an NFL team???

As for the solo stuff Yay!!!!!! to both guys solo stuff. I like it because it shows different sides to each of them. I like it when Jon writes what he feels like without really worrying how it will sell or if it's commercial enough. Richie has had a solo project in his pocket for quite some time now it will be cool to see and hear what he does with it.

The thought of a solo album from JBJ at this point surprises me. Doesn't he do what he wants now anyway? "Lost Highway" would have worked as a JBJ solo album alot better than a Bon Jovi one...
In saying that, I did dig "Destination Anywhere" so I would be curious to see what he does. He can then get what ever he needs to out of his system and return to Bon Jovi and release the kick arse rock album that we all want. Maybe.

I don't know why you think Lost Highway could have been a Jon solo album. You're diminishing Richie's mark on the album. Even if Jon wrote Whole Lot of Leaving, it was inspired by what was going on in Richie's life at the time. A lot of that album is inspired by Richie's struggles. He was very much into the country influences too. There was some talk before LH came out where Richie was talking about working with country artists on his solo work. I love Lost Highway and see it as a real collaborative work between Jon and Richie.

I'm not dismissing Richie's mark on the album at all. What I was trying to say is that an album that is so stylistically different to what you would expect from Bon Jovi would work better outside of the band environment. If they want to release a country album - release it under a different moniker than Bon Jovi.

Lost Highway isn't a country album. It's a mediocre (some moments great, some horrid) typical Bon Jovi album with some fiddles.
