If Lost Highway was a typical Bon Jovi album I wouldn't be a fan...

Let me rephrase, a typical Post-2000 Bon Jovi album.
It's the same type of lyrical phrasing, same subject matter, same spilt between faster and slower-paces songs, same pop-rock sensibilities, even similar melodies and melodic structures basically leading to an album where majority of the songs could fit on any of those records. Had the country thing not been so heavily marketed and talked up to play into the WSYCGH hype, it would be barely mentioned IMO.

The idea of a solo album for him, to take another direction or whatever is one I don't buy, because it looks like the only direction he follows these days is the one to the bank.

Richie's solo album is another story, there has been plenty of talk about it for a long time, so I hope it comes true and I will be excited about it.
I don't think anyone pays 100% cash to buy any sports team most folks pay 5-10% rest comes from the financial institutions and other investors

I think a Jon solo record could be a real good thing at this point. I'd certainly relish it. As for style, I definitely assume it would go down the Lost Highway route, which I wouldn't mind all that much.
