Come to think of it... isn't it weird that they posted the whole cover in the actual size? it's like doing half the job for the pirated copies. Maybe that is the reason it has been taken down?

Weird
Believe it or not , there were alot of negative comments at Backstage aswell.
I also believe the Q & A were bombarded with compaints.
Saying that I don't think they will change it.
Then it has to be even uglier than I thought to even get negative comments there (and I say it because it's an official website!)

But I do think it would be weird if they changed it because of it.

But I'm still thinking it's weird that they posted the cover in its actual size, allowing everyone to keep it and use it to make pirated copies

Wonder what they *are* thinking...

I think it looks pretty smart in a gay way to be honest.
I agree Jim, people are going on about it as if it's the worst thing they've ever seen. I don't think it's too bad, I know it's a play on the Elvis cover, but so what? I bet most people wouldn't know, and like you said it's not something you have to sit staring out, just the cover of the box that holds what will hopefully be some excellent CD's.

IT'S A DAMN COVER. GET OVER IT!

I agree with the both of you. I think some people are creating way too much drama about it by saying that they will be embarassed to purchase the box set due to the cover. Give me a break. I wasn't embarassed about liking a band where the lead singer was wearing fitted, ripped lavender spandex in their first video. And yes, that was going way beyond the style even for the 80's. Looking back on some of their previous attire, this is nothing. In the end, I don't think "the look" of the band really matters at all.

I agree with the it's-just-a-cover thing, even if I myself don't really like it. However, I think you'd expect a little more originality for such a big thing.

Of course it's the music that matters. But all we have so far is the cover, so that's all we can comment on. The moment everyone has their copy of the boxset, no one will be commenting on that, I'm sure.

I know it's like judging a book by its cover (I literally do that sometimes ) but I have to admit that covers do influence me when I'm trying to decide what to buy. That's the point of designing covers anyway - to grab the prospective client's attention. I'll be buying this for sure, but I'd expected something more special, to be honest.

But I'm not losing sleep over it or anything :P

I understand what you are saying Keeper, and I agree that once the set comes out nobody will give a crap about the cover. You can please some of the people some of the time, but all of the people none of the time.

The box set is really for us fans of BJ for long. Whatever the cover will be, we're still going to buy for it! But it surely won't attract new fans!

Guess you didn't much reading over there, it was about 50 50 against and in favor of (or simply, doesn't matter)

and btw I guess fans would prefer Jon's A&E add as the cover

Why is it that when someone says the cover sucks he/she is seen as someone unable to "get over it" and dedicated to looking at the cover for hours?
