I saw them last year or 2 years ago and they were horrible.
Agreed. As washed up as Richie is, he is still capable of sounding good and delivering a great show if he got his shit together. Coverdale, on the other hand, is absolutely done.

Plus, I don't follow Whitesnake, but I imagine they're probably playing theaters now. Much like modern day Guns N' Roses, they're all hired guns. So once Richie realizes that this solo thing is just not going to work, he's better off returning to Bon Jovi.

So which is it? Or are you just guessing?

Yes, Coverdale has his bad days (but he still sounds better than Jon on any night) but the band is solid as a rock with great players. And the songs are great as well. Whitesnake may not play stadiums, but that's not a measurement of a great band.

Well, if you must know, I enjoyed them when I was younger (older songs, obviously), during my 80s hard rock period. I also saw them live back in 2008. And then I grew out of them. Since then, I have seen some YouTube performances once in a blue moon and his vocals left me very disappointed. Following a band to me means listening to their new stuff, checking setlists, watching videos on YouTube and listening to them regularly. So I don't do that. Not sure, why that makes me less qualified to judge Coverdale's singing.

I brought the popularity to the question, because we all know how important it is for Richie's ego to be popular and relevant. It was also important for him to do him as his own solo act. He can acomplish one or the other (but not both) with Bon Jovi or with solo career. But with Whitesnake he can't do either of these things. Plus, like I said, Coverdale is done as a singer (my opinion), so I don't see the shows being great either. But off course, a bigger fan can argue on that, just like I could argue that Jon with his voice can still put a great show. All subjective.

Can't see it happening, but then who would've guessed on. Steve Vai being in Whitesnake once?

As we have seen, Richie doesn't need any reasons for his behaviour or decisions. He is just wandering around doing anything but expected.

I'm pretty sure Richie will be the next drummer of Kings of Suburbia.

I highly doubt this will happen. What would be the point? Richie wants to have his own band, be the front man, write his own music/lyrics that HE wants to sing. Why would he chose to be David Coverdale's newest employee, singing back up and playing someone else's music?

Yeah, Whitesnake are a great band, but the singer is terrible nowadays, horrible really. The backing vocals are incredibly loud to cover Coverdale and the live releases are always full of overdubs done by said lead singer.

And no, Richie's not good enough.

This is so stupid, it's why I've ignored it until now.

If Richie's tired of playing second fiddle to Jon, why in the world would he play second fiddle to David Coverdale???
Duh!
