You've just heard it for the 1st time? Have you not got the Young Guns album because it's very underrated in my opinion.

Santa Fe is probably one of the best songs Jon has ever written. With that Blaze of Glory, Miracle, Blood Money and Dying aint' Much of a Living, Young Guns is well worth buying.
I agree for 100%. In my opinion it's a whole lot better then Jons other solo album.

It really is! DA is awful except for a few songs
Heehe..for me, DA is the only albums that I never get sick of. I have always loved it.

In all the songs people have listed from BOG, noone has mentioned Billy Get Your Guns. I love that song. It's so full of mischief.

Awesome song...one of those rare times [not a 'one off', but rare], when Jon has written something that makes him a great songwriter as opposed to a good songwriter. For me, that's the quintessential difference in the two...a great songwriter has the ability through words, to paint a picture so powerful, that you do not only feel it, but in your mind's eye, you see it. Santa Fe is a song that does exactly that.
Now...if that passion and belief have emerged from where they have been having a hibernation of late, and have made their mark on the new album......roll on whatever day, month for that album.

Destination Anywhere is one of my fave albums ever, and Blaze Of Glory is great to, though I've always preferred DA.

I absolutely know that is it not the common opnion but i AGREE TOTALLY with you I love Detination Anywhere it's very different from what we heard from Jon or the band before but I love it ... I am never tired of listening to it ....

but to come back to the thread I love Santa fe it's really a wonderful song my favorite one from BOG .... I love both Jon's solo album but BOG is IMO too much of a western movie soundtrack sometimes I am just not in the mood (great album but i am not ok for cow boys songs all the time ) ... it never happen for DA I admit

I don't think Jon gets enough respect for trying something different with DA. He could have quite easily put out an album that was no different to a band album, but he didn't take the easy route. It might not be to everyones taste but in my opinion it was a better album than for example Richie's Undiscovered Soul, purely because that was so 'middle of the road'.

So it's better because it's different? Undiscovered Soul and Destination Anywhere can not be compared to eachother, they're different albums in different styles.

Absolutely! And I don't dislike it because it's different - it simply doesn't mean anything to me, I just can't relate to ir or whatever. I don't think it's a bad album, but to me it's pretty boring. I only like Janie, Destination Anywhere and August 7. Sometimes - rarely- I'm also in the mood for It's Just Me and Every Word. But I'm just not to keen on that album anyway.
