Default "SAVE THE WORLD" - emotional rescue!

hey y'all this is my second thread and i just wanna say that i know CRUSH was not considered a real rock record or a classic by most die-hard fans and even i consider Crush to be "CROSSROAD - the remix album".

having said all that i still think it was a good album and nearly every track was above average. i really liked the album tracks over the Singles and my faves were SHE'S A MYSTERY and SAVE THE WORLD.

i thought SHE'S A MYSTERY was probably the most intimate song the band ever done and was a really good relaxational dreamy track!

but it was SAVE THE WORLD that did it for me.

i loved SAVE THE WORLD and the string arrangement it had. i wished it was a single or B side so everyone cud hear this epic. it truly lifted me during dark times. it was really powerful and cud easily have fit perfect in a big blockbuster Hollywood movie!

was STW performed it during the CRUSH tour?

were there any other versions of this song?

it was never performed live..did u know that it was originally written for the Armegeddon soundtrack, and was to be a Jon solo track? when he realized that Aerosmith provided the big ballad for the movie, he kept it for himself...pretty neat eh? i love this song..

LOL, these two songs are my least fav on Crush. I don't like power ballads like Save the world and She's a mystery is simply boring. No rythm no nothing. The perfect song to put someone into sleep.

i'd just like to say that this song from Aerosmith (what's it called again ? ) is a really good song too ...I like "save the world", but i think the other one was better for the film, honestly ...

I totally agree with you on She's a mystery - I love that song - very unique and different track for BJ.

However - oddly I would have to say for me SAVE THE WORLD is probably my least favourite Bon Jovi song ever and wish it had of stayed an armegeddon b side And always skip it with a WHAT WERE THEY THINKING WINGE....LOL

I just can't stomach it - but each for their own I guess

Yeah, when advertising the movie for the cinemas in Australia, 'Save The World' was the theme being played during the ad. Imagine my surprise when I found out the soundtrack did NOT contain the song.

seriously? wow! thats the first i heard that it had any involvement. It must have been a different version, cuz they never formally recorded it with the band until 1999/2000 and the movie was released in 1998..very cool!

Hmmmm.......perhaps the ad was only to say that the movie was out on video or something.........but I'm positive it was played during an 'Armageddon' ad of some description.
