Yeah, I kind of agree. I didn't mean to compare the songs on an emotional level, just somehow musically. Both songs are minimalistic and really stick out of the catalogue.
I like them both though. I don't mind the whiny vocals that much. "Temptation" on the other hand is one of the coolest songs they've ever done, I absolutely agree with the feeling here. A shame they didn't put it on "Crush" - it is art.

i'm drawn to temptation because of how different it is. the song should definitly have appeared on an album of some kind as it proves how versatile bon jovi CAN be. it would be interesting to hear the tune live as well, i reckon jon could nail it vocally as it's not too strenuous and it would go down well with the die-hards.

For me, Save the World is a bit over the top... I can lap up a lot of Jovi cheese but that "The sweat on this old collar, that's my PhD" line makes me want to hurl.

I agree Temptation should have made the album. It´s a very extraordinary Bon Jovi song.
But it wasn´t the only one that should have been there on Crush. Welcome To The Good Times, I Don´t Want To Live Forever, Ain´t No Cure For Love, Stay. All these B-sides should have been A-sides.

Yeah you're right. It's a shame that Bon Jovi tend to cut a lot of their best songs out of the albums to replace them with a lot of catchy bullshit (i.e. Captain Crash, Complicated, etc). What really frustrates me is that Bon Jovi haven't exactly lost it, it's just their agenda towards new material and what they think the majority of their fans want. I can't help but think that by trying to appeal to a new audience and a younger generation they are leaving a lot of the die-hards behind.

I hate Save The World. It's boring as hell, which was the problem with much of both Crush and Bounce.

Save The World
Mystery Train
She's A Mystery
You Had Me At Hello
Joey
Right Side of Wrong
Open All Night
All About Loving You
Thank You For Loving Me

Yawn.

i wouldn't call crush boring myself. i think the only track that bores me a little is she's a mystery, and that's only as it's too similar to mystery train. i think the album gets a bad press all round.
