I do beklieve the songs exsisted in some form when Skid Row got picked up by BJ but those two songs got reworked with a Jon/ Richie stamp in my opinion.
They were THE SAME. Believe me, I've heard the demos w/o Bach.

Jon (esp) and Ritchie seem to have the finger pointed at them for some of the earlier decisions but how much do you think they were influenced by Doc as to what too do? He was the manager after all and I imagine early on that neither Jon or Ritchie would have been very business savvy. They were only young boys. Another bad/unfair decision (my opinion) was the one to take Tony Bongiovi to court over wanting to release their early material. But again I wonder how much it was who's decision. Not offering excuses for bad decisions but just a different perspective.

Out of the question. This would have been post Slippery, so 3 albums in to the career. If they did indeed rip them off, they knew exactly what they were doing. I'm not saying they did, Im not saying they didn't because frankly I don't really care. But saying Doc was the puppet master doesn't sound right.

And Doc. was quick to throw Jon under the bus, lol, on the Supergroup show by telling Sebastian that was not Doc Mcghee's contract but Jon's. So, I agree, with Matt, I'm sure Jon and Richie new exactly what they were doing when they structured the contract to get a percentage of the publishing royalties from the first record.

As far as Jon sueing his cousin, Tony, I can't say I blame him. He didn't want his early recordings released but since Tony had the rights to those songs Jon didn't have much leverage and from what I understand he settled.

Ok I'll take your word on that since I have never heard the demos. The fact is it was a bad deal for one record, which I believe was balanced out by the perks SR recieved, ala touring with what was arguably the biggest rock band on the planet at that time. The exposure they got is something many bands work for years for before they can play for that many people etc...... Baz may like to believe that his voice and persona would have made Skid Row famous anyway, and maybe it would have but iit's a sure bet that the success they had wouldn't have come when it did without BJ's help.
