I was talking to a guy at the weekend who looked after Bon Jovi when they came over to the UK during their first two albums.

He showed me Samboras mobile number and a photo of his then 1 year old in Samboras arms.

He said that Bon Jovi were into drugs, hookers, groupies and drink - just like all rock bands.

He said that JBJ is dedicated to his wife but back in the day shagged anything that moved.

Dont know why I put that in here but there you go.

Sebastian owes JBJ big time so its only right he made it up with him. Would love to know what JBJ and Axl talked about. Deep down Axls probably a top bloke and there is huge respect to each other.

Axl's all talk. It's cool to bash on Bon Jovi, but given how Bon Jovi is far more relevant than GNR these days, I'm sure Axl is somewhat humbled by Jon.

That's a cool story. Thanks for posting. I think Sebastian has mellowed over the years.

Axl & Jon? Wow! As far as I know Jon has a fight with Axl since 2006 (at least).
Hm weird but nice as well. Well no doubt it was a historic moment for that restaurant, having Axl, Jon & Sebastian in the same time well...xD

Axl's all talk? Are you high? I mean when was the last time he did an big interview? The guy stays out of the public eye, pretty much the only way to see him is go a GNR show nowadays.

And as far as I've heard he hasn't bashed Jon since 80s, because I wouldn't count the comment he made during a show in Paris in 2010 as bashing.

Jon, on the other hand, made negative comments about Axl in 2006. Granted, he made some fair points, but this definitely shows Axl wasn't the one bashing.

Nevertheless, it's cool to hear they get along, which is probably the first time ever. Even if their meeting was pure coincidence.

What comment was that? Very curious, don't think I have heard it.

And as far as I am aware, other than that 'BJ can suck my dick' comment live, Axl was always respectful when talking about Jovi in the press/media even in the 80s. I posted an interview with him from 89 (?) where he says how difficult it will be to top Appetite and that not even Bon Jovi quite managed to top Slippery with New Jersey. He also defended Jon's superman tattoo on Howard Stern. The one bashing Bon Jovi in the press has always been Slash and there's some properly nasty comments from him, i.e. "The problem with New Jersey is that Bon Jovi is from New Jersey".

Before that and even after that, Jon has always said that Guns N' Roses were a great band. I know an interview with him from the late 80s saying that its fantastic there's a band out there like GnR, and "We're the Beatles and they're the Stones of this generation"

Not sure about that either. I read somewhere that Jon actually suggested to Axl he should get Doc McGhee as a manager. Axl did for a couple of weeks, and then fired him. Also, I think they've been spotted having dinner together in Los Angeles as well. Plus, Steven Adler talks about GnR hanging out with 'Bon Jovi and his entourage' at some point in his autobiography.

Heh. This is such a geeky post. But I have a small obsession around the relationship of the two bands. Overall, they are still my favourite two bands, and hell, I would have given a LOT to be at that dinner (albeit, those 15 bottles of wines were probably more expensive than my yearly income!)

Thanks for all this. I've also never heard any bad blood between Axl and Jon. Back in 2010 Jon did an interview for an Australian radio show and they were talking about the guy who won Australian X Factor at the time. He was hiding out in cave somewhere. Jon said both him and Axl were coming to Australia at the same time and maybe they could sit with the guy and have a talk with him about fame. Maybe not word for word what Jon said but somewhere along those lines. He mentioned Axl as if they were friends.

I know the brand of wine Jon drinks and they are not very expensive. 20 bucks each. I can't say the brand but it is a very common wine in all hotels around the globe, hence the reason why he drinks it

Why not?

What's with this sudden "I heard stuff I'm not supposed to say" -thing with people here? If you know something, share it. If you can't, shut up about it. It's not gonna make you any more popular if you try to convince people you know something they don't. It makes you look like a dork.

I disagree. But I can't say why.
