No no no, I was joking... Seb got the words wrong, so... forget it. Somebody should invent an online sarcasm translator.

it's not the usual jovi ballad but i like the song.
it's not as intense as TAALS or other ballads, but it has something imo.
but i admit i hated it at first.

For me, I think that in 1998-1999 when the album was going to be 'Sex Sells' Jon said that it was an all out ROCK record with NO ballads (This was said at the fan club in 98 for ref)

Lots changed and a different producer had to be used. Time passed and more songs were then penned/used for the album. I just think that 'Crush' was not what I was expecting at all and if there was so many good ROCK tracks to pick from then why go with 3 ballads? one of which (She's a mystery) is one of the most dreary songs I have ever heard with no place on the finished album. The box set has given us a glimse at some of the songs that could have made 'Crush'

THESE ARMS ARE OPEN ALL NIGHT (Unreleased demo circa 1998 recorded with the Big Dogs in New Jersey.)
GARAGELAND (Unreleased demo from 1999.) Recorded in New Jersey.
MAYBE SOMEDAY (Unreleased demo from 1999.) Recorded in New Jersey.
LAST CHANCE TRAIN (Unreleased demo from circa 1998.) Recorded in Los Angeles with Aerosmith's Joe Perry on guitar.
THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY (Unreleased demo from 1999.) Recorded in New Jersey.
YOU CAN SLEEP WHILE I DREAM (Unreleased demo circa 1999.) Recorded in New Jersey.
CRAZY LOVE (Unreleased demo from 1998.) Recorded in Los Angeles and New Jersey.
ORDINARY PEOPLE (Previously released b-side from 2000's CRUSH album.) Recorded in New Jersey.
SATELLITE (Unreleased demo from 1999.) Recorded in New Jersey.
REAL LIFE (Movie soundtrack from 1999's EDTV.) Recorded in New York City and New Jersey. It was remixed for inclusion in the box set.
TOO MUCH OF A GOOD THING
(Unreleased demo from 1999 prior to CRUSH album.) Recorded in New Jersey.
KIDNAP AN ANGEL (Unreleased demo from 1999.) Recorded in New Jersey.
TEMPTATION (Int'l b-side from CRUSH album in 2000.) Recorded in New Jersey.

I know we could all pick out some songs and make our own 'Crush' album but why not use one of the above songs instead of 'She's a mystery' ??

Just looking at those songs and I still think 'Garageland' would have been a great album name and song choice for the record.

I like the song, it isn't as good as others but I'm still happy it's on the album.

There's no way Sex Sells would have been an out and out rock record .... just lookat that tracklist. A lot of them are good songs, but another New Jersey or Keep The Faith it wouldn't have been. It would have still been a pop-rock album

And I still refuse to believe that Last Chance Train and Satellite are from that era

definately whack garageland in there and you increase the album's greatness ten-fold.

but not as an album name. i always loved Crush as the album name. i like it when they choose a random name that isn't the title of a song.

Last Chance Train is from 1991/1992. Jon's voice sounds the same as it does on the demo vocals from Starting All Over Again and Joe Perry's guitarwork sounds the same on Last Chance Train as it does on Get A Grip and Pump.

Satellite is from the These Days sessions I think.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

She's a mystery is the only song off Crush I bother listening to anymore.

It's beautiful, Haunting and melancholic, I wish the band would take this route more often because they can make it work.

Salaam Aleikum,

That's about what I would have figured too.

Heh, I just had a look at the list of when each song was supposed to have been recorded, I must have forgotten the absolutely ludicrous claim that Outlaws Of Love was from 1992
