Now, I agree with you they should play around with setlists a hell of alot more and play more stuff from the 90's, esp Faith.
But, to say for them to not play stuff off of Jersey and Slippery is a bit naive, and never gonna happen.

I know, and don't really care about those, with the exception of Born To Be My Baby, which should get a rest by now. They didn't play the song on the Cross Road tour either, so it could get a rest by now.

But does the crowd want to hear Story Of My Life? Bounce? Joey? I Got The Girl? Misunderstood? Captain Crash & The Beauty Queen From Mars?

If those songs can be played in front of a crowd that doesn't know those songs, why can't Homebound Train and Hey God be done?

As much as we can all complain about the setlists, these guys are still playing some pretty good stuff. Setlists are a constant issue and yet check out sets from the Cross Road and These Days tours...they really aren't as mixed up as everybody assumes. I'm the first the jump on their backs for playing Sleep at every show, but things aren't that much different to 11 years ago.

We all get annoyed by the incessant pedalling of certain songs/albums, but, at the end of the day, there aren't many of us that go to a show and have too many bad words to say when we leave.

Name as many bands as you like, not many come close (in a live setting) to Bon Jovi.
Some very valid points, Richie.

But I must say I'm not that into that violin, a part from the looks of the musician that is...

I agree with you, I was just responding to your specfic mention of New Jersey. And, I'd rather hear BTMB over Runaway.
I may like some of the songs you mentioned, but most people don't give about them, and I really wish they would be swapped out for songs off of KTF or These Days, and ESPECIALLY the lesser known stuff of off New Jersey on a consistent basis.

Look I happen to like a lot of those songs you just mentioned Seb and would not mind hearing them live at all. Everyone likes different things, it's just the spread that's a bit messed up right now. Assuming we're only going to hear Runaway and nothing from 7800, that leaves room for about 3 songs from each other album.

So we're going to have Runaway and the 'Holy Trinity' (Prayer, Bad Name, Wanted) every night. Assume about 24 songs played a night. That leaves about 20 songs to spread between eight albums. Assume they only play one more from Slippery, 19 for 7 albums. Say they want to play about six per night from Lost Highway, that leaves 13 for 6 albums. So really it's about two songs per other 'back catalogue' album.

I do not dislike all the songs I mentioned. I think Bounce is alright, but all those songs simply have nothing to do with the rock band many of us started to like in the nineties. And with the lack of songs from the nineties nowadays most of us should be happy if Keep The Faith is played, let alone a gem from the nineties or eighties.

Instead of focussing on the fans the band seem so proud of having kept over the years, they focus on the fans they've won with It's My Life and are abandoning the fans that got them where they are now. There's no balance in between the decades. Roughly said it's 10 songs 80's, 5 songs nineties, and then 10 songs from this decade.

If they really have to play Captain Crash, they might as well put an album cut from the nineties in too, and you've got your balance. Instead of that, they do nothing but album cuts from the past 3 albums, which results in a set that sounds like more of the same.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

There have been plenty of gigs without Blaze of Glory. Are you confusing it with Wanted?

I would love Jon and Richie to come out with just guitars and do a 2-3 song acoustic encore. Go back to basics a bit like Bryan adams does at the end of his shows.

Yeah, in the same way that the Foo Fighters are doing in their current stint (which I'll be seeing tomorrow night ). At least in just 1 of the concerts per country if not every night
